Usagi Tsuniko!! actually it's Tsuniko Usagi if you want it to be technically japanese... It really does mean Rabbit of the Moon.... O.O
Usagi sucked really bad during the SuperS series.... she was so grouchy and causing problems all the time... her and Chibi-Usa... it was really annoying, I hated SuperS

I know, I kinda like Bunny better then Serena...
But if Serena was Bunny, they'd have to explain that her real name is Serena (like in the manga) In order to explain why they call Chibi-Usa, Rini...
I hate the way america thinks they have to change everything... just subtitle it and let the people that can read, read!

Usagi = Rabbit Tsuki = Moon, No = Of The symbol for the moon, Tsuki, appears in the Japanese word getsuyoubi, "monday". Monday is "moon day".
Pronunciation: Tsukino Usagi = skee-noh oo-sah-gee ;D now try it
Serenity in japanese language is: Seion. So in japanese it would be 'Princess Seion'.
Senshi = Warrior, Soldier Serena = Selene, greek goddess of Moon. Serenity is not the original form. -ity is only an added suffix.

Also, her names Tsukino Usagi, not Tsuniko Usagi ;D -MC

I like her nickname Bunny the best... ;D I'm with you. Before I saw the original versions of season 1 and season 2, I thought that the name Serena was ok, but I like Bunny better.

Alright, letsee.
Tsukino Usagi. And no it does not litterally mean rabbit of the moon. It has no literal translation over and it is an actual name. it IS a pun in that it sounds like the way you'd say "Rabbit of the Moon". If you look at the kanji of the inner senshi's names you'll find that the NO kanji/symbol is the same symbol that is used in Seiya's name. It means "field".
As far as choosing names to fit the senshi in the slaughtered dub. Sarena isn't too bad as it is a dual moon reference.
the Sea of Serenity is a location on the Moon. And there is a reference to a Selene who was a moon goddess and a story of her involvment with an Endimiyon.
