Y'know, I'm using the Japanese names more often now. Don't know why. Maybe it's because I'm seeing the Japanese names everywhere and I'm getting used to them. But, I still like Serena or Bunny best. I like Serena because it sounds serene and calm. Not like her at all, really! And Bunny because it's a nice nickname and it's a fairly accurate translation. But there's something about the name Usagi...

No, my full name means: Protector [Hebrew] of the ... Tree [Dutch] I know my family name is a tree of some sort, but I have no clue what it is in English ^^; What part of your name means "of the"?

Van den = of the [Dutch - English]
You can look it up if you want, but you'll have to use 'de' instead of 'den'. 'Den' comes from German, but is quite common in the Netherlands as well, especially with names, same with 'der'.

I do normally name Sailor Moon by Usagi, but I do think that Serena sounds better though.. but I try to stick with the original Japanese names that Naoko significantly named the Senshi with.

How can you say 'Serena' sounds better?! It sounds WORSE!!! Same with the other senshi! Who wants 'Lita' when you have 'Makoto'?

This may be a little off topic but I personaly like the dub names that the American companies came up for the Senshi with only one exception: Trista... Setsuna is just such a better name it blows my mind, where the heck did they get 'Trista' from! I like the name Setsuna because it seems to have this air of mystery to it that goes so well with Sailor Pluto's character. A little bit more back on topic: I like the name Serena because it reminds my of the name of one the Greek goddesses of the Moon Selene. I really like the name Selene and as such I also like Serena's name.

Selene is closer to my fiance's name. Selene means moon in greek. Trista is one of the names I couldn't figure out . . . Although as far as the Greeks are concerned you also have to remember that Artimes is considered another Moon goddess and she has alot more Myth surrounding her than poor Selene who only has Endymion the sleeping guy. Also something interesting I found in my recent studies of Greek Mythology is that Artiemes is sometimes considered to be linked as a triple goddess with the goddesses Selene and Hecate who is the goddess of Ghosts and Crossroads. I personaly don't understand the connection but I have seen some artwork depicting them with three heads or three bodies intertwined. It's pretty interesting stuff.

Actually, Artemis is the Goddess of the hunt (if my memory recalls correctly from my last Greek class 8 years ago). She was always depicted with a hind I believe it was. I could be wrong though.
