Hotaru's name is the same in both versions?? I had no idear... That really doesn't make sense to leave hers as is & change the others. Then again, we are talking about DiC here...

(BTW, If I remember correctly, Artemis and Selene are both arguied to be the goddess of the moon. Can't really remember who won, or if there still argueing over it. Hecate if I remember correctly ( I got into a greek fetish two years back ^_^; is the godess of the dark moon and something else....) Artemis was the goddess of the hunt, and Selene was the 'goddess' of the moon. She's not exactly a goddess, since she's the daughter of two titans Hyperion and Theia (who happened to be both siblings and married), who are the son and daughter of the gods Gaia and Uranus.

I hate the way america thinks they have to change everything... just subtitle it and let the people that can read, read! That wouldnt be fair to those who don't like subtitles. Some people(like me)find subtitles annoying and distracting from the action. Here is an interesting article about the dubs: www.soul-hunter.com/sailormoon/articles/dub.phpIf it hadn't of been for the dubs,I would'nt of become a Sailor Moon fan.

I read that page. I think I read it a couple of times so far, but I'll go indept here (excuse the 'america-bashing' I'll be doing here, I think the US is a great country, the pplz are nice, I just think there should be major changes about the gov't and other (powerful) instances.) Alright, let's do that. Unrealistic? Airing subs? It happens all the time, all over the world. I think the only exceptions would be the US' and Germany's national television. So basically you could say that those in charge of the dubbing would consider americans to have a short attention span and, indirectly, that they're spoiled. I agree here, but this is not a sub vs dub argument. Next please. Majority rules? Wouldn't that make Chinese the language of choice? Wait a minute. Wasn't this an anecdote to give the NA dub credit? You're saying here 'vastly inferior North American dub'. Where I come from, a grammar construct like that means it's bad. Nope, but calling Juuban Middle School, Juuban Middle School doesn't go into that category. Why change it to Crossroads? What happened to Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako? And who the $#^% are Serena, Amy, Raye (what kinda name is that?), Lita and Mina? 'we must realize that these things are simply not yet socially acceptable in American culture.' If I got a dime for everytime that line was used, or that 'the American nation is not ready yet for [insert something here]', I'd be a millionaire right about now. It worked perfectly fine in Japan. Well, the commonly known quality-vs-quantity thing can be inserted here. Before the dub, not many pplz knew about the anime, but all of them knew just what it was about. Then the dub happened, and a lot of fans with WRONG information about the series came into play. The problem with the Sailor Moon dub is not the fact that it's dubbed, but the fact that it's changed. Dubbing means using voiceovers to translate the series, and NOTHING MORE. Thank you.
