I can't see the pics, either... My favourite villain is either Black Lady or Galaxia. I just love them!! Also, Cyprine's twin's name is Ptilol.

Hmmz, I couldn't click it and didn't bother to try 'n find it, but here's my reason why it shouldn't be written as Ptilol:
You can't write Ptilol in kana. Simple as that. Takeuchi-sama would have picked names that can actually be written in hiragana for her characters.

In the mangas I think Cyprine's twin's name is PetiteRoll or something like that...Little Roll? But here's some good info on her name. antares7.absoludicrous.net/minerals/witches <<Hmmz bettyann I think I found the same site you did, and it's not letting either of us post the site. But here's the info from that site Ptilol39 The katakana characters Puchiroru represent Ptilol's name.40 Her name comes from either the Japanese name of the mineral Clinoptilolite41 or the Japanese name of the mineral Ptilolite.42 The Japanese write Clinoptilolite as Sha-puchiroru-fusseki, and Ptilolite as Puchiroru-fusseki. The name Ptilolite is obsolete, and has been replaced by Mordenite.43 (The katakana characters Moruden-fusseki represent the Japanese name of Mordenite.44) The katakana characters Puchiroru undoubtedly represent the "ptilol" in Clinoptilolite and Ptilolite. Ptilol's name cannot come from the name of the mineral Pucherite because the Japanese spelling is Putch-seki, which means "Pucher-stone."45 The name of that mineral comes from the name of a mine called Pucher.46 The Japanese write the name Pucher with the katakana characters Putch. "Puchirol," "Pikurol," "Petite Roll," et cetera are all incorrect spellings. __________________________ Erroneous Spellings of Ptilol's Name Pikuroll -- This looks like a bad combination of Puchiroru and "Puchirol." The "i" and "u" have switched places. Pucherol -- Somebody was probably thinking of the mineral Pucherite when he or she came up with this. Puchirol -- It could be that this spelling was inspired by Puchiroru and "Pucherol." Pikurl -- This could be an abbreviated version of "Pikuroll." Pikorul -- I think that this one came from "Pikurol." Plitol -- This may be a misspelling of "Ptilol." Pichurol -- The author of this one probably meant "Puchirol." Petite Roll -- We can all thank Mixx for this idiocy. What were they thinking? (The image is from Selenity.net.) Petorol -- This is one of the assumed English dub spellings. ______________________ Anyway Black Lady would have to be my fave villian.

You probably cannot see the pics as fortune city doesn't like when you link to something on their servers. Same thing happens with angelfire. If you clikc a pic directly from a link it doesn't work.

Oh no, it's not a pic. It's a link to a website that had info on Ptilol. Bettyann and I were trying to post and oddly the middle section turned into "..." So I just copied and pasted the info.

I would have been sure to have noticed that. So I say it's pretty good that that site's blocked, coz it contains bogus info.

You forgot Pikachu in there. Anywayz, who determines that those are erroreous ways of writing her name? Surely not Takeuchi-sama. Besides, I never once hear the anime characters try 'n pronounce a name like 'Ptilol'. I would have been sure to have noticed that. So I say it's pretty good that that site's blocked, coz it contains bogus info. Those are erroneous ways of writing the name in English because the Japanese word is clearly meant to approximate "Ptilol," none of those other made-up words. Because the language system is different, they can't just write out "Ptilol." Any word that is not a native Japanese word must be approximated with different characters. But we don't use the direct romanization, we use the word it was trying to approximate. I will use an example to more clearly demonstrate my point. Would you say "Kunzite" or "Kuntsuaito?" You'd obviously say Kunzite. But the direct romanization of the Japanese characters making up that word would be "Kuntsaito." So why don't you say that? Because it's clearly trying to approximate the word Kunzite. For the same reason, we should say "Perle" (the French word for "pearl," which is being approximated), instead of "Peruru," the direct romanization. And we should say "Mercury" instead of "Maakyurii" (once again, the direct romanization), because it is obviously approximating the word "Mercury." That said, the correct name is Ptilol. Click here to find out why it's Ptilol
