Yes, I was absolutely horrified when I found out they changed 'Hino Rei' to 'Raye Hino'. Do they have no idea of the original names? And changing 'Zoisite' to 'Zoycite'! And 'Jadeite' to 'Jedite'! Oh, the humanity!!!

Oh "boo frickedy hoo" *lol* They changed it - it's annoying - but it's done - over it! ;D
I'm so much more used to the dub version anyway so to me it doesn't make much of a difference - but I don't like the way they changed some of the personalities - like Jupiter - she isn't supposed to have parents and yet in a dubbed ep. she said that her "mum is allergic to cats" - that bugged me. But the name thing - oh well - watcha gonna do?

Concerning Hino Rei and Raye Hino...
The Japanese always put their last name first. It kinda makes me think.

I personally don't like when they change facts. They can't change facts, but we'll find out anyway >=) I won't say I'm a huge dub fan, but I thank it for introducing me to Sailormoon.

Yes, Raye is supposed to be Rei. But I read somewhere that the 2 aren't pronounced the same!!! Now, I've blown my mind trying to think of another way to pronounce 3 little letters without it sounding horrible, so could anyone give me a phoenetic spelling of Rei, or at least tell me how to pronounce it!! I've tried listening to the eps in Japanese, but I can never catch it.

it Japanese there is only one way to pronounce the 5 vowels.
A "uh" Like in Astronomy. E "eh" Like Energy I "EE" Like Me O "oh" like Orange U "ou" like You
So ei "ehee" is still prounonced like the name of the letter A rei is the same as Raye.
Unlike english and its inconsistensies that spawn words like ghoti (pronounced "fish")
gh - cough o - women ti - nation

I don't like the name changes but hey, whatcha gonna do? There is nothing we can do. I always watched SM in the dubbed verison, but since I watched the entire seaons of Stars in Japanese, I've been using their japanese names a lot. @_@ and hey! I thought the english even spelt Rei's name like...Rei. Not Raye. But I guess I was wrong!

Oh well... Sometimes I get confused when americans do their names, and I go.. @_@ Wait what's their first name?! Like Ogata Megumi. I've seen her name so many places I forgot which is her first and which is her laast. @_@ If anyone can help me out that would be appreciated.

Yea It really does make you think why the japanese put their last name before their first. I just don't get it. Because its a long standing tradition of honor. It's not "first name" over there, its "given name". It's not "last name" over there, its "family name" And trying to honor their family they put their family name first. Oh well... Sometimes I get confused when americans do their names, and I go.. @_@ Wait what's their first name?! Like Ogata Megumi. I've seen her name so many places I forgot which is her first and which is her laast. @_@ If anyone can help me out that would be appreciated. Megumi is a Japanese given name. So in western style it would be Megumi Ogata. Eastern style it would be Ogata Megumi.
