Favorite Opening

Hmmmm.... favorite opening, let's see. Well, I luv the Sailor Stars Opening, especially the song. It was the first opening I ever saw, as the Sailor Stars season was the first ever season of BSSM I watched. Another favorite opening is the 3rd season opening. Although I am not a big fan of the season itself, I think that the second opening, the one that introduces all of the senshi including Uranus & Neptune is really cool.

See, I've never seen Stars to my knowledge and as it's been going, likely never will. I know the story roughly from friends, but I haven't been able to purchase them yet. (Christmas this year hopefully will bring good fortune ) But I loved the graphics of the second half of the first saga. It just, was gorgeous. The music for the dubs raped it, but after hearing the Japanese version, it was special. Too bad they hadn't changed the music earlier though... I could see how that would get extremely repetitive and annoying.

I loved the S opening...it seemed so organized...yet cool. The other ones lacked "focus"...

I LOVE the S opening! It has the Outer Senshi in it! :] But, yes Zyppora, that same song played for the first four seasons did get quite annoying. xD

But I also love the StarS beginning how they introduce the Inner Senshi by doing the split screen thing. n.n

I think I know every filler in every opening theme up to Stars. Here's my list-

Season 1, Opening 1: None that I can remember
Season 1, Opening 2: Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon staring at each other is a filler, at least I think
Season 2, Opening 1: Usagi standing on a lily pad is a filler
Season 2, Opening 2: Neo Queen Serenity in a dazed look after Endymion and Chibiusa are walking is a filler
Season 3, Opening 1: An aerial view of a flower-shaped explosion is a filler, three stars floating up into the sky is a filler
Season 3, Opening 2: None that I can think of
Season 3, Opening 3: Again, none that I can think of

Since the two openings for SuperS are exactly alike, I'll do one for both of them-

Bubbles floating into the sky is a filler
The auroras in the sky is a filler
Chibimoon and Pegasus staring at each other is a filler

I'm too lazy to do Stars...

I disagree, the beginning of the S opening (with the exploding flower) was just when the Senshi were flying up. That goes into the "characterization" category.

In my eyes there are:

Characterization
(Introduction of characters)

Attack
(Introduction of senshi's attacks)

Tranformation
(Introduction of senshi's tranformation)

Enemies
(Sub category of characterization)

Important Themes
(Important things: The Holy Grail is the 'important theme' in S, Pegasus for SuperS)

If anything doesn't fit into this category its filler. For example, just like MoonPrince mentioned, Sailor Moon standing on the lily pad in the 2nd opening is filler (she's in a waterfall place).

In the S opening (least fillers though), the last scene has Super Sailor Moon flying down...that's kinda fillery.

In the SuperS opening when there is actually just snow falling down.

The second opening of R is my favourite
You see Usagi transform into Neo Queen Serenity, you see Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond and the Wiseman, it's really sparkly I think , and I like the artwork
