I don't support yuri anime pairings. And besides, Amy's already got a boyfriend if I'm not mistaken. Ami does NOT have a boyfriend, and neither does Makoto. And if you don't support shoujo-ai, then you will miss out on a LOT of what the anime community has to offer.

Well if Ami-san has a boyfriend he certainly does a nice disappearing act on her... he was only mentioned in the first season and then disappeared on her... so.... I would say that she isn't attached at all... And as for people debating the whole Ami-Mako thing... I support it and I also have a bit of proof. The captions that they have on the sides of the pics aren't totally real... but the pics are actual screen shots from the show www.phoenixanime.com/proof.htm

Hey now, they DO look cute together.
My opinion, though, is that if they aren't a couple in the original series, it's only a matter of fan fic or doujinshi or whatever...
I must admit that I'm quite a fan of shoujo-ai, but if thery're not a couple, they're not.
Let's keep fictious pairings to, well... fiction ^^'

Well, yes, of course it's fiction. They don't exist But it's not canon either, and that makes me somewhat sad ...

Call me insensitive, but honestly, if I wanted to believe that two fictional characters persue a romatic relationship with one another, and attempt to use obscure references out of context to reinforce that belief, who has the right to stop me?
But on that same note, what right do I have to insist that my out of context "proof" is the end-all say-so of the relationship that has never once been explored through the official naratives?
Myself, personally, love the idea of a romantic relationship between Ami and Makoto. I look up pictures and read fanfics depicting them. However, I've personally written 2 Ami/Urawa fanfics under the name of "Prince Mercurius", and they do have a romantic relationship within the official narative.
Just my 2ยข

Well, there are just as many, if not more, hints towards the Ami-Urawa relationship as there are towards the Ami-Makoto relationship (yes, I know, I'm starting it again). The fact that Ami misses Urawa is caused by them being apart from each other.
I like the idea of Prince Mercurius though, but I would definately not use Urawa for that *hates Urawa-baka*.

If you take into account that the director of the series (Junichi Sato) is notorious for lesbian relationships within storylines he controls, and the fact that he tried (and failed) to have the only consistant male love interest in whole series (Mamoru) bumped off so he could focus on the girl's relationships, it's no wonder he didn't end up pairing off the other girls with men.
As for your hating Urawa, that's an awfully strong emotion to be using against a fictional character with 2 cameo apperances throughout the 200 episode series.
I liked him.

My strong emotions towards Urawa sprout from various fanfics, rather than the canon series, but his appearances in the anime do little to nothing to oppose the way I see him.
Maybe it's the whole psychic thing he has that repels me.

So, your emotions regarding a fictional character is influenced by people's interpritations and/or modifications to the original character? And Junichi Sato's decision to never introduce him ever again reinforces that emotion? Poor, poor defenceless Urawa. I'm under the impression that there are pleanty of members on this board who don't like him because he's "competition"; they want Ami all to themselves. Now that's an emotion I understand.

Well, who said I didn't want him out of the picture because he could be competition? As is clear, I'd prefer an Ami-Makoto relationship. Urawa clearly doesn't fit the picture. And the creator's decision to let Urawa sporadically appear, for whatever reason, doesn't tip the scale in his favor at all.
