I heard that some people thought that Sailor Jupiter should have been an outer senshi because the astroid belt seperates Mars and Jupiter. They also think she could be a good outer senshi because her planet is a big planet like Saturn.
What I think: It doesn't matter that the astroid belt seperates her from the other planets. She is a bigger planet, so what! She is fine as an inner senshi. Besides, pluto has a small planet and she is a powerful outer senshi. What do you think?

I think Jupiter should have been an Outer Senshi, because her planet is basically one of the outer planets. The inner planets have been defined to be Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The outer planets have been defined to be Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. This leaves Pluto to be a special case. I found a website that has some explanations: teacher.scholastic.com/researchtools/articlearchives/space/outplan.htmA lot is explained about the outer planets there.

"inner" and "outer" senshi are fan made terms, what would make more sense would be if Saturn were an inner senshi.
Because then the five Eastern elements would be inner senshi and the kings would be outer senshi.

Inner and Outer are indeed fan made terms, but their origin lies in the fact that the planets which the senshi represent are divided in inner planets and outer planets. Next to that, it's fairly easy to divide the senshi into inner and outer senshi (though faulty), because the 'inner' senshi group together from the first saga, while the 'outer' senshi group together as well, are more powerful than the 'inner' senshi and get less time on the show.

If we're going to get into stuff like this, we might as well ask why the heck the planets' respective Sailor Senshi all live on Earth, rather than their planets. I mean, the only two that should really live on Earth should be Usagi & Endymion (her being the senshi of Earth's moon & him being the Prince of Earth). Anyone following my lead?

Queen Serenity sent them to Earth becuase the Moon was a dangerous place, becuase of Beryl, and the soldiers were protecting Princess Serena and they went with her, their memories lost to them all. It explains some of it in the dub intro in the first episode.
I believe: Maybe they live on Earth to protect it from the Negamoon Kingdom or something. Prince Darien was from Earth, and maybe they lived there to find him or something...?
I think: I think they are Queen of their respected planet, like Usagi as Neo-Queen Serenity, Ami and Princess Ami, etc... Now to answer your question without confusing myself, maybe the other senshi weren't living on their planets becuase they were protecting Usagi...
eh, I dunno.

Well, first of all, I'd like to ask you whether you meant back in the Silver Millennium, or during the series? In the Silver Millennium, they each lived on their respective planets as far as I know. After all, we see Queen Serenity on the moon, and the remains of her palace. There's no reason to believe the other senshi didn't have something similar on their respective planets. Even better yet, in one of the episodes (I dunno if there's more of this sort of evidence), Sailor Mercury states the Mariner Palace (or something along those lines), her palace back at her home planet, Mercury.
In the series, they've reincarnated on planet earth, for the sole purpose of protecting it from Queen Beryl. Another reason for not being reborn on their respective planets is because they'd die instantly, their kingdoms have fallen and the planets are uninhabitable. Only the earth is left to protect.

Wouldn't the Asteroid Belt make Jupiter an Outer or does that have anything to do with it?

...but...aren't the Senshi's planet habitable? In the StarS manga...didn't Uranus/Neptune go back to their home planets for a while to check things out? (I remember them looking at a huge super computer or something).
Maybe Jupiter could be an Outer...although...it seems so weird to me.

I don't think it matters but I just want to know.

Ah, see I did not know about that tad bit of info. I just guessed they all stayed w/ Serenity no matter when it was b/c they were protecting her & were like the guards the President of the US has that are around 24/7.

No, the main difference between the President of the US and Princess Serenity is that the latter is loved. Therefor, she doesn't need her guards to be constantly around her.

No offence to the senshi of these respected planets, but I wouldn't really like to live on Jupiter, Saturn Uranus or Neptune, or Mars or Venus, not even the Moon. I love my planet Earth. It's where I was born and raised, but I'll probably end up going to Mercury! Maybe not. Too close to the sun.... one side is extremely cold, other side is extremely HOT!
