No offence to the senshi of these respected planets, but I wouldn't really like to live on Jupiter, Saturn Uranus or Neptune, or Mars or Venus, not even the Moon. I love my planet Earth. It's where I was born and raised, but I'll probably end up going to Mercury! Maybe not. Too close to the sun.... one side is extremely cold, other side is extremely HOT! Well, if you were born on Mercury, wouldn't you rather stay there than go to earth or the moon or Jupiter or wherever? It's simply a matter of where you're born. Home sweet home. And I'm sure the Mercurians had domes or something to protect them from the environment and influences of the sun.

I can see someone's reasoning for thinking that because Jupiter is the first planet of the gas planets. Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are all planets entirely made of gas except Pluto is made of ice. But I still think Sailor Jupiter should be an inner scout

(Little squeaky fake voice) "How can they live on Earth?" (End squeaky fake voice).

You're completely adapted to your home environment, and as such, another environment would be 'strange' to you.

The whole inner and outer thing has baffled me, for me they are just terms in which order they appeared. For space terms, the groupings make little sense, but for the show, it's fine. I like it, it's just the order (in space too).

The "inner" and "outer" grouping designations are fanmade. However you must concede that there are in fact distinct groupings within the senshi.

I remember back when I was five, in my dubbie days when I didn't know of the outer senshi, I thought it just ended at the five. When I turned six they started airing the second season and eventually glimpses of the third. This is when I realized there were more, but they weren't together and the like, so I never really asked myself a question about Jupiter because, well, I was introduced to it in away where I never thought anything besides what it was. She wanted five senshi originally so that's what it turned out to be. It still makes sense and I like it for what it is. =)

Naoko-san has her reasons for choosing to make the Sailor Senshi the way she did. The "inner" and "outer" grouping designations are fanmade. No they're not. They're the official names for the planet groups. Inner planets are Mercury through Mars, and outer planets are Jupiter through Pluto. Fans simply took these terms and applied them to the Senshi.

Naoko didn't designate the senshi into inner and outer so much. To be fair even saturn is in a class of her own, and even neptune and uranus don't hang out with Setsuna as much as the inners hang out together. . . It is possible to group the senshi off into pairs of two. Chibiusa and Hotaru can be grouped into two different sets even.
