You know that comic strip garfield (the cat)? Well, most of the series is in fact a dream. Garfield has died of starvation. Most of the series is just him in denial, using his imagination to develop a life of goodness to get his mind off of him dying. Here's the strip that shows he's dead and stuck in limbo. Keep in mind what I said while reading it. Every single strip after this one is his imagination. img96.imageshack.us/img96/5114/goodgarfieldqd1.jpgPretty freaky stuff, huh?

Uh... is this what Jim Davis himself has said.....? Or are you just reading too much into the comic strip?

Well, that's what I read it to be. But I do have a habit of reading into things too much.

Hmm, I can understand why you might think that, but I just see it as an example of how imagination can affect your mind if you let it too much...

This might just be an example of "Non-canon" material being released with no warning. I think Jim Davis realised a problem in someone close to him or himself and faced it with his work.

That could have been it, yeah...
Hmm I wonder if there's info about it - something Jim himself has said about it and the inspiration behind it.
