Everyone ever wonder why Rei is a shinto priestess going to a catholic school?? It seems kind of strange to me....

I don't know much about priestess vs. catholic, so I won't say anything. Zyppora? Phobesgirl19? Sailor Mercury? Creshosk? hawk1? SuperSailorMercury? Want to add something?

Ooh.. I see my name ! Anyway, I went to a Catholic Primary School and High School, so I guess I might as well add something.
You don't necessarily have to be Catholic to go to a Catholic School. Half the girls at my Catholic Primary and High School were Buddist, some where Muslim and others were Catholic. I'm Catholic.
So, what I say is that there's really no problem with Rei being a preistess going to a Catholic school.

I'm not sure if the T*A School, the school Rei goes to, is actually a catholic school (don't throw stuff at me if I'm wrong plz). I do know that it's an all-girl school though, coz I remember that being said in the anime. That's the reason she goes there (oohw, yet ANOTHER hint at Rei's sexual preference).

I'm rather hurt that my name is not on that list. Well I'll contribute anyway so When I lived in Japan I went to a school that was run by an a group of 'brothers' from British Columbia. They lived on the school grounds and they had built their own Cathedral on campus. The school was an all boys school that had Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. It was called St. Mary's International school. I've kept the yearbook from the school to prove to people I lived in Japan. But although the school was run by 'brothers' it was not a Catholic school. It was simply a privete International school. The brother's took alot of pride in the fact that they had at least one student from every country in the world on their campus. So basicaly all I'm getting at is although the school is run by Nuns there is no evidence that it is a catholic school. Heck it could probably be the 'Sister' school to St. Mary's...dang...what was it's name. Simply because I lived in the same area of Tokyo as the Sailor Senshi. Literly less than three blocks away from Usagi. Always kinda liked that

Hawk answered this I did draw the conclusion based that she's taught by nuns and there is a cathedral on her campus. I guess it could be no indication - however her uniform is much the same as you might see a Catholic school girl wear. But you know it really is up to speculation... Hawk - your story about your school in Japan is very interesting!! I wish i could have went to study in a foreign country but it's kind of expensive and i'm sure i'd get megahomesick.

Hawk - your story about your school in Japan is very interesting!! I wish i could have went to study in a foreign country but it's kind of expensive and i'm sure i'd get megahomesick. Well my dad's job moved him around alot, he was a Financial officer for a company that got bought a few years back. He was very good at fixing up other people's messes so they kept sending him all over the place. We started out in Toledo Ohio, moved to Detroit Michigan, then back to Toledo, than back to Detroit. And afterthat someon had really screwed up Europe so we moved to England for 2 1/2 years which was alot of fun. Some of the limey's tried to pick on me (I was only about 10 at the time) but after I beat a few of them up they left me alone and we got to be pretty good friends. As for Japan the Asian Theatre of my dad's old company was in shambles. But they promised my dad some massive bonuses. So I wound up in Tokyo...Japan was...a very interesting place for an 11 year old. I wish I had spent more time exploring, getting to know different people different places. I used to walk to the Tokyo tower and look out over the massive city. It's 4 feet taller than the Eiffle tower (The Japs built it that way) and in FAR better condition too. After only a year in Japan my dad quit his job and we went back to the states. The company didn't come through on their end of the bargin, they worked my dad twice as hard and only payed him half of what they promised. So we came back to Detroit and my dad worked for soem Auto parts manufactorers. Well that didn't go to well either, the 1st company got sold and the second company was doing an 'Enron' and my dad refused to go along with it so they fired him. So then we wound up in St. Louis for 4 years while I went to High School. And my dad worked for this...sewer construction company. After he was fired from that jobcause of a change in management didn't like his way of doing things he was sent down to New Mexico where he now is the CFO of a company that explores Civilian uses for Laser Technology. My dad has comented that its nice to be working for a company that actualy is in the green for once. However although I am sitting right now in a room set aside for me in New Mexico I don't actualy live here. I was enrolled in Missou before my Parents moved so I get in state tuition in Missouri and I'm only home for the Summer. So in as few words as possible that's my life story. If there is anything in particular you'd like to here about, or any stories from a particular destination you'd like me to share just ask. Just start a thread in the 'Unrelated section' and I'll be along to answer it soon.

Going to an all girl school does not indicate preference. . . And I don't think the reason she goes there is because it's an all girl school.
