First of all, welcome to my Advanced RPG Palace ^_^
Please take your time to read through this post; it will save both you and me, and probably the other roleplayers too, a lot of trouble if you do. I know rules are boring and usually broken, but believe me, save yourself the trouble and just read'em. I, Zyppora, run this subboard, and unlike the normal RPG section, this Advanced RPG section is moderated. I think the term 'zero-tolerance' could be used here, because I don't tolerate any rulebreaking or otherwise messing around here. These rules are here for a reason. Let's keep ourselves to them. If you think you don't have what it takes, please keep out and continue your current RP in the normal RPG section. Thank you.
Basically the general rule is to use common sense. However, experience has told me that this term is about as clear as the water in the Tigris, so I'll take the effort of pointing the rules out below. READ THEM.
Rule #1: No godmoding
Godmoding is taking over another character. I know we can't completely exclude this type of roleplaying, especially when being descriptive, but try to do it as little as possible. The person you roleplay with decided what his/her character's reaction is to your character's action, not you.
Rule #2: No powerplaying
Powerplaying is roleplaying your character as if they were invincible/allpowerful. You're not a god, you're not some uber-creature, you're a simple character, just like everyone else. The ONLY one who reserves the right to powerplay, would be me And I'll make sure I keep it to a minimum at all times.
Rule #3: Speak English
To many members, English is a natural language. I fail to see why those people would use anything other than perfect English. I don't mind a typo or two, but if I, or any other member, have to decipher every post you make, you may receive a request to go back to the unmodded RPG section. No offence, but we like to keep it literate. French, Spanish, Italian, any languages other than English are NOT permitted to be used here. The ONLY exception to this rule is Japanese, as a tribute to the origins of the Sailor Moon series, but if you do use Japanese words in your post, please append your message with the proper English meaning of the word.
Rule #4: No Crazy Talk
Apparently, this is proven to be an unclear point in the past, which is why I mention it here. No crazy talk. What do I mean with 'crazy talk'? Characters like '*&^%$' and chatspeak. These are NOT permitted, so DON'T use them.
Rule #5: Be nice
I want everyone to behave. Simple as that. When In Character, your character should have a good reason to bitch at someone else's, however when Out Of Character, just don't do it. If I get complaints, I won't hesitate to remove you.
Rule #6: Stay In Character
I'm not saying it's not allowed to go Out Of Character, but keep in mind that this is a RPG section, and not a discussion section or anything else. Keep going Out Of Character to a minimum, and whenever you do, keep yourself to the format.
Rule #7: Stick to your format
The generally used format for making your posts is as such:
"" - Speech
'' - Thoughts
(()) - Out Of Character comments
If you have your own format, make sure it's clear what happens when. Best is to use the above, as I, the Zyppora, prescribe them
Rule #8: No oneliners
Oneliners are posts that consist of only one, or very few lines. Please make sure you have a moderately long message to post before actually posting. I think 5 full lines (on my resolution: 1280 by 960) is pretty decent per post. If I see anything shorter than that, it's deleted without question.
Rule #9: No doubleposting
Same as oneliners, if I see any of these, they're deleted without question. Everyone has the ability to modify their own posts, so use that option instead of posting a second message.
Rule #10: Keep it PG-15
I know the official term is PG-13, but since this is MY spot, I make of it what I want Anywayz, 'Keep it PG-15' means that mature content (think sexual content, violent content, swearing, etc.) is allowed, but keep it to a minimum. Whenever 'the deed' is done, close a door or something. We don't care, as we already know what happens. If you feel that desperate, continue it in PM or on an IM, but not here. On a sidenote: all male characters in this section are 'fixed', no pregnancy, no babies, no shiznit.
I'd like to believe that I've covered pretty much all the annoyances of a good RPG board, however, new rules may be appended if I see it's necessary to do so.
Your Character
Basically, aside from the rules mentioned above, your character holds little restrictions. This is a Sailor Moon RPG section, so we don't go outside the Sailor Moon Universe and the physical rules that go there. There will be a thread named 'CHARACTER PROFILES', where you will have to 'sign up' your character, so to say. After putting your character's profile there, it will be (dis)approved by me. If I see posts made by characters that are not (yet) approved, they'll be deleted without question.
Think that's it.
