I'll give it a shot for you! Note: I'm going to be using the original Japanese names. When the series was dubbed into English a lot of the script was changed, including nearly all the names. The series is about a group of young girls who defend the Earth from evil. These girls, the Sailor Senshi (or 'Sailor Scouts' in the English version) are the present-day reincarnations of the princesses of the planets from a thousand years ago. Previously the Moon was home to a civilisation known as the Moon Kingdom, but this was attacked by a parallel dimension called the Dark Kingdom (or 'Negaverse' in the English). To protect the princesses they were sent to be reincarnated on Earth, and to be found again by the two cats Luna and Artemis when they were strong enough to fight once more. Sailor Moon/Usagi (Or 'Serena' in the English) Usagi, the main character in the series, is a whiny, underacheiving, lazy schoolgirl with an insatiable appetite. She was in her previous life the Moon Princess, and as such when Luna found her she became Sailor Moon, to represent the Moon in the fight against evil.

Phew! Sorry I left you with just Sailor Moon there, but I was running out of time online and I figured I could a;ways add to it later. I had to leave some characters off, as I was ovr the 5000 character limit. Sailor Mars/Rei (Or 'Raye' in English) Rei is another popular character, and not without reason. She has a short temper and a fiery disposition, which makes her a very colourful character. Rei is a Shinto priestess at her grandfather’s temple and is familiar with spiritualism, divination, telepathy etc. A lot of people think she is very selfish and mean (she teases Usagi like nobody’s business, and pinched Ami’s leg to stop her speaking against her). She has two pet crows at the temple called Phobos and Deimos (the names of the two moons of Mars, actually). In her past life Rei was the Princess of Mars, and she is now Sailor Mars. Her powers are centred around fire. Sailor Jupiter/Makoto (Or 'Lita') Makoto (often called ‘Mako’) is the fourth Senshi we find. She’s very strong, aggressive and butch, which has lead to a lot of rumours saying she’s a lesbian (not true: there are only two homosexual Senshi, see later). Mako is an orphan and lives by herself, though for some reason this was changed in the English version. It was made apparent that her parents were still alive and living with her. She is very independent and confident with herself. The independent side of her lead to her having great cookery skills, and the confidence lead to her flirting a lot. Previously the Princess of Jupiter, Mako is Sailor Jupiter. Her powers are to do with electricity and wood. Interesting combination… Sailor Venus/Minako (Or 'Mina') Minako is unique in that she was already an experienced Senshi when we first met her. Whereas with all the previous characters we started off without them knowing they were reincarnations of the Princesses, Minako had already found out that she was a Senshi. Let me just explain a bit about the whole series here… The lady who created Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi, wrote a manga way before she started on Sailor Moon. This first manga was called ‘Sailor V’, and was purely devoted to Minako, unlike Sailor Moon which was based on several characters. In ‘Sailor V’, both made and set before ‘Sailor Moon’, Minako finds from the cat Artemis that she is the Senshi of Venus, but rather than being called ‘Sailor Venus’ she was code-named ‘Sailor V’, but was to all intents and purposes the same thing as the Sailor Moon series. This was originally a stand-alone series, but then Mrs Takeuchi decided to write a sequel to Sailor V, this time known as ‘Sailor Moon’. Both series run in parallel to each other, and there are plenty of references to Sailor V in the Sailor Moon series. Anyway, Minako/Sailor V was already an established character before Sailor Moon was made, and so when we see her for the first time in Sailor Moon she is already experienced as Sailor V. She changes her name to ‘Venus’ to fit in with the pattern of the planets. Minako is a born romantic, being the Princess of Venus. She accuses Makoto of being an awful flirt, though she herself is certainly out for love, albeit with more subtlety. She is the fifth Senshi we meet, and also the last for a while. Her powers are based on love. How cute.

(I'm having to deliver this in chunks, due to the word limit) Sailor Uranus/Haruka (Or 'Amara') Haruka is the next Senshi we meet, and another favourite of mine. A good way to describe her would be like Makoto, only taken to the extremes. Makoto is independent and strong, Haruka is a real tomboy (and is even mistaken for a boy; Usagi and Minako had a brief crush on her!) and is extremely powerful. The English dubbers fouled up big time when they were scripting the series in English. In Japan there is a greater margin for error in the TV programming, and there are a lot of touchy subjects dealt with in many programmes, including those designed for younger age groups. In this case, homosexuality. Haruka is in love with Michiru (see the next character), and there’s little doubt of this on the show even though it is never brought out into the open. When the American dubbers were re-scripting and editing the episodes into English they censored out any scenes which mentioned their relationship, which needless to say annoyed a lot of people. Although Haruka and Michiru never kiss or physically display their love, they are still extremely close, and to explain this away the dubbing company added that they were related, cousins to be exact, which is why they are so close and live together. Oh well, that’s my rant over… Haruka is a very harsh character, and believes in sacrifice for the greater good. This makes her seem very cold and uncaring, as she is willing to let innocent people die if it would save the world. She passes herself off as very tough and unshakable, but underneath she’s very insecure and doesn’t want to lose anyone. Before becoming a Senshi she was very distant from other people and kept relationships at arms length. It’s hinted that she is running away from a painful past, though we never find out. Her inner insecurity contrasts with her macho exterior, and sometimes she comes off as pretty hypocritical. She openly flirts with other girls despite being in a close and (only hinted) sexual relationship, though she reacts very jealously when her girlfriend gets attention, to the point where she doesn’t like people asking for autographs. Haruka is Sailor Uranus, and her powers are energy-based. Sailor Neptune/MichiruMichiru is the next Senshi, Sailor Neptune. A lot of people like Michiru a lot as she comes off as being perfect: she’s a famous artist and violinist, never seems to lose her cool and has elegance coming out of her ears. It was Michiru who found Haruka, and it was because of her that Haruka became Sailor Uranus. Before Haruka even met Michiru she had been having dreams of her, and when she met her for the first time she remembered Michiru as the girl from her dream. This lead to Haruka taking her responsibility as Sailor Uranus. Unfortunately I’m not very familiar with Michiru, so there’s little I can say about her. She is Sailor Neptune, and has the power over water.

I'll do the Sailor Pluto one ;D (profile according to various websites) Japanese Name: Meiou Setsuna Name Meaning: King of Dead US dub name: Trista Meiou Birthday: October 29, 1974 Astrological sign: Scorpio Blood type: A Favorite color: dark red Hobby: shopping Favorite food: Green Tea Least favorite food: Eggplant Favorite Gem Stone: garnet Favorite subject: Physics Worst subject: Music Has trouble with: cockroaches Strong point: sewing Dream: to be a fashion designer Height: 5'6" Sailor Pluto appears at the end of Sailor Moon R. Her powers are over the control of time. As Sailor Pluto, she wields the Time Staff (it looks like a very long key). In her staff is the third talisman, the Garnet Orb. Setsuna likes to shroud herself in mystery. As the guardian of the passage of time, Setsuna is very isolated, and only likes to reveal herself in the most desperate situations. Unlike the other senshi, Setsuna is much older although her appearance is still as a young adult due to her existence in the passage of time. Special Powers (Sailor Moon R & S) Pluto Planet Power, Make Up Setsuna says this to transform into Sailor Pluto. Dead Scream Sailor Pluto produces a massive sonic scream which can disable opponents and destroy various structures. Dark Dome Close This is Sailor Pluto's forbidden attack, used to close the passage of time.

Also, this site may be of help: people.hsc.edu/students/kayserc/scrplays.htmlIt's got the entire first series of dubbed Sailor Moon scripts to download, along wiht a chunk of the second series. I'm limited in exposure to Sailor Moon, and this site helped me a lot. These only feature Sailors Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus. I'm still searching for scripts for the rest.
