All right so I felt like doing a review on a movie out of complete boredom and decided to go with something simple. The Sailor Moon R Movie. Now if anyone here hasn't seen this movie then stop reading now because I'm going to have to give parts away during this review.

All right so we start out with one of the first things I like about this movie. The introduction of the five main characters. I like this because there's a chance some viewers watching this movie is seeing Sailor Moon for the first time and giving an introduction of the Senshi was a smart move. Only thing I don't like is how they completely leave out Mamoru as Tuxedo Mask and Chibi Usa. Or anything on the cats. They found it important to explain the main five but they don't bother to explain at least Mamoru who actually has a role in this movie because of his relationship with the antagonist... So a person watching this for the first time would probably be wondering, "Who's Mamoru? And who the heck is the pink headed girl around them all the time and why does she have a floating cat ball like head that looks like Luna?" ......
So we see the flash back of Mamoru's friend leaving and then coming back to the real time as Usagi is talking about the flowers. Get in position to kiss now this scene is when I really start to wonder if their relationship is taboo or something because he's looking around as if he thinks someone is going to pop out and yell "WHAT ARE YOU DOING KISSING HER?!" or something... What's the big deal? They're in a relationship isn't this allowed? Is it the age thing? Why are the others spying? I didn't get this... What's the deal? Okay then so after a little prank done on Usagi they go outside and it's start raining flowers........
Well Usagi seems to be enjoying herself. And now we're introduced to the story's antagonist who at once lead you to a thought that him and Mamoru had some special relationship, he's talking about finding a flower for him, blah. So Usagi is like on yellow alert or something as she tells the boy this is her boyfriend and she gets shoved aside... I didn't get the slow motion thing before the shove and the comment on punching her. It wasn't a punch, it was a shove.........
So yes we go from there to Rei's house talking about what's heading to earth and the cats are all worried. And at this time Usagi is too curious as to who that guy was to really be interested and I will admit...
What Ami says is funny.
"Mamoru does seem to be popular with the men."
^ I laughed... so hard.
So yes Usagi has a flash back when Mamoru is talking about how lonely his past was, and I did not hate this scene. This was a good scene. So then we see a white flower floating in the night sky and it lands, next morning comes up, Rei senses something wrong they go to see a bunch of people lying on the ground who then comes up being controlled by the plants and then a fight breaks out. Usagi is useless as always. Rei kicks butt... the end.
Nah not really so then the plant thing comes up and start going for Chibiusa and___ What the heck is the point of her character in this movie? She has nothing to do in this movie that's even relevant to the story! Most of the time she's is just standing around and providing cheering support in the background. The only thing she ever does of use is helping Sailor Moon snap out of her sad moment after Mamoru gets capture and then returns to the background. That's it. I have nothing against this character but they didn't give her nothing to do since the movie is only like fifty nine minutes long there's nothing for her to do! Do they know by this time that she's the future daughter of Usagi and Mamoru? No for all one could know she's a normal person who for some reason knows who the Senshi are. Why is she in this movie? I'll tell you why... Because she's a main character from the series, it's the only reason she was even included to this movie she serves no real purpose to anything except that one scene...
Anyway back to the fight, Usagi saves Chibiusa butt and fall through a window. Senshi are getting their butt kicked at the moment and Chibiusa, for some reason think it's a good idea to try to kill Usagi in her sleep...........There was many ways to wake her up but she chose to clamp her nose and mouth shut and cut off her breathing.
Usagi: "Are you trying to kill me!?"
Chibiusa: "That any way to thank me for waking you up?"
Yes! Yes it is! Of all the ways to wake a person up you risk killing her........... Okay so Usagi go Sailor Moon helps in the fight, they get rid of that thing and then we meet the antagonist Fiare again and he says, "You're that girl from yesterday."
Wait a minute! How the heck does he know Sailor Moon and Usagi are the same person? By looking at her!? Throughout the entire series not once, even their own kind, they anyone meet the Senshi in their human form and then their Senshi form and put two and two together! But all he has to do is give the girl one glance and he magically knows Usagi + Sailor Moon = Same Person! What the heck? Even Chibi Usa had to see Usagi transform to know her and Sailor Moon was the same person and she got the chance to look both her forms up close, and inside and out! Does he has the magical "Senshi telling Eye"? or what? At least when Mamoru comes in as Tuxedo Mask it makes sense how he knows, first Mamoru is like saying his name, that's one tip off. And the rose.
Now you see he could've figure out Mamoru was Tuxedo Mask and then he could've came to the idea that Sailor Moon was Usagi. And not find them out the other away around... But whatever... So to do the quick version of this. Mamoru almost gets him to come to his senses the other antagonist is like well, "Screw that!" takes control again and he attacks Sailor Moon, fights with Mamoru. Tries to impale Sailor Moon, Mamoru jumps in way, bleeds a little, Fiare leaves with Mamoru, Sailor Moon very sad...
Another flash back scene to Mamoru past meeting Fiare for the first time, they talk. I really like this antagonist compare to the others in the movies because you actually know why he's doing what he's doing and he not exactly evil he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. So the cats are explaining the plant evil woman who name I really don't care much about to learn how to spell. Sailor Moon all sad, Chibiusa like I said help the others snap her out of it and they go to the planet... Final big fight scene takes place. Senshi get crush after Mars throws Moon out of the way of all those plant women. Fiare tries some stupid job to make Moon out to be a coward looking for herself when wait. Mars pushed her out of the way she didn't have time to react or do nothing... Now you got Fiare acting like an idiot here... Gee...
So he uses the Senshi as bait, Sailor Moon finds her friends more important than her rod and Fiare is, well I dunno touched by this or something while he then transform in a familiar suit that Ann wore in the series with pink hair and all, Mamoru burst out of the ice water thing prison, whatever, he was in while Fiare is sucking out Sailor Moon energy talking about how she had no idea what it means to be lonely this caused a flash back scene to each of the Senshi where we find out what Sailor Moon means to them, this friendship effects Fiare some more and then he tries to kill Sailor Moon, and gets thrown at by the rose............ Falls over, I dunno if the thorn was sharp or if it was the fact he felt Mamoru was abandoning him or what, or both but anyway.
Later we realize the planet is on a crash course on earth and Fiare MAGICALLY knows that they don't have enough power to teleport home. Now how he knows the limits of their powers at this point I'll never know. But hey if he can magically know that Sailor Moon is Usagi by one glance I guess this isn't impossible no? So Sailor Moon decides to use the crystal and everyone is like, "Don't do you'll die!" Well......... Um. If she doesn't do anything YOU'RE ALL going to die! And this time Sailor Moon actually the one talking some sense because that's basically what she means in her words. This is the first time I can remember in a while well Sailor Moon is the only one around the main characters that is actually in the right mind set of what needs to be done here.
And well they waste time distracting her and Fiare grabs her crystal. We go to another flash back of little Usagi meeting a kid Mamoru... She's telling him don't cry he starts talking about his friend leaving with nothing he can do- So then she's just start talking about herself and her mom and give him a rose and says, "Congregations" ?? Congregations!? For what that his friend is leaving? This is supposed to be a touching moment where we're making a "friendship token" connection and it's ruined for me because she starts talking about herself while Mamoru is explaining why he's crying and then she says "Congregations"? Well yeah, thanks. So Mamoru decides to give the rose to Fiare... You know the English Dub translation has this scene makes more sense. In fact if I didn't see this movie in dub first I wouldn't had known what it was originally meant for...
So this destroys the evil plant blossom and Fiare like disappears for this moment and we get the ending song, her trying to save Earth, a flash back to each, I'm assuming when they first met Usagi with her trying to get Ami to play, telling Rei she's a hard worker, not being afraid of Makoto (and I really like her face reaction when she answers her question to) and to admiring Minako as Sailor V. They all help and bam Earth saved...
So then Fiare helps revives Sailor Moon, or give her energy by giving her his before drifting off into space as a little kid again and Sailor Moon wakes up all, "I told you so" like before the movie ends... On that rock. Wait you can't just leave us wondering how they get off the rock since they don't have enough energy to teleport home....................................... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
So in short I think the main thing hurting this movie is how darn short it is. It's basically close to a hour long and no longer. Might as well be a two Sailor Moon shows mixed into one instead of being an actual movie. But the angle between Fiare, Mamoru, and Usagi is good and if they had more time to work with that story could've been even better. The action is entertaining and if you're a Sailor Moon fan who can fill in all the blanks of the characters then this movie is perfect for you. Though there was probably no reason to cover any of this since most people watching this movie are fans of the show anyway and would know these things then why they felt they had to have a mini introduction of the main five characters I don't quite understand...
Anyhoo that's just my opinion. And I might as thought some parts a bit toooo much than I should had but... meh. This is what happens when I have nothing better to do with my time, I know it's sad.
