"GAH! I'm late!" A woman with green hair, wearing a female's school uniform had run from an alleyway, the dark blue uniform slightly dirtied from the muddy, slimey walls of the alley.
"I can't believe they moved the building!" It was so troublesome... Being new in a large town like this was bad enough...but the buildings seemed to change places! The people were busy enough to drive some others insane. Planes were flying overhead quite more often than she was used to, as well as she'd only lived in small cities or in the country for her entire life. The noise was something to get used to, as well as so many people.
It was cold, and having just taken a shower for the girl only made it that much colder. Along the sidewalks and roads she ran, trying to find her way.

A young man walked, eyes closed with dark glasses upon the bridge of his nose. It had been so long since his eyes last opened... and even longer since those eyes had seen anything. Noises, loud and piercing, to soft and barely audible, filled his mind. He slowly sought out his favorite spot to sit for the day. His mind often reeled at the overwhelming sounds, and yet... One sound caught his ear, something new... *the sound of running footsteps... a slip, trip, and fall... a mutter and a curse... followed by the word "late"* It was a girl... very excitable... He followed the path of her sounds, though he had not seen a single image in years... he had a feeling this sound was something to pay attention to...

"I can't believe it! It's so late now!" Her voice squeaked in her panic, though she didn't notice. She continued to run, nearly tripping a few times. Taking a ladder onto a building's roof, there were boards laid out over the edge of the building, just as was set up around most of the rest of the city. She felt water droplets begin to hit her skin, and knew what was coming.
.....Rain. God damn it. She'd keep running, though. This was something she could not miss. Over two buildings, then one more... NO! She was slipping! She missed the board, sliding down the wall, catching the edge with her hand. "G-geh..." Her schoolbag was taking up her other hand, but she put it in her mouth, and used both hands to pull herself up.
She continued running, sliding down another ladder and continuing down the street. Ugh... why was the city so large? It took such a long time to get anywhere, and she was always late. Oxygen became harder to pull into her lungs, so she had to stop...but...she couldn't... ....She did. Using a stop sign to lean on, she caught her breath. A street sign was near there, telling her current location. A glimmer of hope was in her eyes now. "It's not far!!"

As the girl ran she kept muttering soft curses at the city... She hated it's moving buildings, It seemed like she was the only person aside from he that noticed... But he knew more than just the fact that they moved... He knew the how and why of this city, including why they moved...
The man leapt from his seat in the calm and plunged into the chaos that the girl was unknowingly throwing herself into. A smirk crossed his face... "She dropped a book..." After picking up the book, He noticed this was the first time in a long time he felt the pure joy of knowing his surroundings, even without eyes, his ears percieved, his soul knew, and as such, there was nothing he could not feel, and not know.
Leaping off of rail, bench, then wall, windowsill... A building shifted, a chuckle emerged from within his throat... "You will not bar me from her..." As he came into contact with the offending building, the matter seemed to hold no sway, he passed through as though it were an illusion.
Something perked his ear.... And with a swing of his cane he destroyed the ethereal pest. 'So... they have taken an interest in her as well...Curious.' He opened his mind and listened for her tell-tale sign... He listened closer... "It's not Far!!" There she was...
The young man led himself to ground level, his dark glasses long gone from his exertions... He opened his eyes for the first time in years... "Excuse me, you dropped your book..." He felt his eyes smiling as she looked in surprise at first the book and then to his eyes... feeling and hearing what she saw... Blue green orbs of Marble, clouded with a layer of milky white... He then felt her gaze on his face Strong, and proud, but friendly. Skin of fair color slightly pale. Hair of deep dark brown, short, and a square beard just beneath the chin that extended a little bit, but was small in width. A body that was slim from little food for an extended amount of time.
He extended his hand holding the book...

"Oh!" She'd nearly tripped at this man's sudden appearance, his immediate jumping nearly right in front of her. "Th-..thank you.." She glanced to his face, reaching out to retrieve the book.
"Y..you're.." She did a small bow, begging for forgiveness in that movement, for staring at his eyes as she had. They...they...he was...blind...
"Um...I have to go now..." She turned, running for the next street over. He was very nice...he'd picked up her book.. How sweet.. Wait...how did he find her book, let alone even know where she was if he couldn't read her proof of ownership inside the front cover?
She'd study it later.. Maybe some "blind" people could see some sort of something..? Maybe there were types who could see shapes, but still had the film as the sightless did.
And now...she'd FINALLY gotten to her building. Her studies class.. Psychology...art...it was like college..but..
She went inside, closing the door behind her. The first room was very, very dim with hardly any light at all- just enough to get through the few chairs and people sitting. She belonged in the room "*"...Yes, she'd thought it was crazy too. A room number being a single *...but at least you couldn't mistake one room for the other, right? The first room had no name, no number..it didn't need one. It was the only room of its kind in the entire building, as far as she knew- dark. She made her way to and through the second room...it was completely misshapen in every part, and shapes with no name, reason, or definition were spread throughout the room... Oh, yes, the lighting in this room was very bright; it could nearly blind you if you hadn't been there before or had no warning. Nearing the next room, her destination, she took her shoes off, revealing white socks. She also changed her clothing. What was once a school uniform was now plain black pants, a black shirt, and black socks.
The * room.. Upon opening the door, there didn't seem to be any defining line or difference between the doorway and the room itself. There were stars, everywhere. Constellations, patterns that had yet to be discovered...it appeared to be an enormous dome of the night sky. It was much more expansive than could have ever been in the true sky...but then again, the true sky was so covered by gray, one would've thought the sky forgot its own colors. The stars were beautiful replicas of the originals... If someone had been born some ten years ago, this would've been better than the real thing. The majority of the black had the slightest tint of the darkest blue to it, making the room a breathtaking sight. Other people were in there, but they wore all black, concealing their better parts, and blending them in with the background of night. They all seemed to be in a trance, but were merely admiring the room. Sounds played in the background, and they grew louder as a comet shot across the ceiling, going quite slow because of the expansiveness of it all.

As he entered the building the girl entered, The young man found a bombardment of sensations... It was almost overwhelming, all that was happening in this building, so many thoughts, so many people... so many spectral events... "My god... I can't, believe the activity here... I..." And upon collapsing... he found his mind swallowed into blackness... and began to dream of things long past... Brothers whom died... mother and father who simply vanished... And the last sight his physical eyes last beheld... A bright blue lightning bolt, and a black explosion...

Humming, I was quite happy to have obtained such a break... I worked here, and it was interesting and fun, but too much of a good thing is really bad! As I neared the exiting room, I wondered what my sister was cooking. That woman may've been a witch at times, but man she could cook! "Wh....what the?!" I double took, unsure of what I had seen. A man was just lying there, apparently asleep. Or...what if something had happened to him?! I nudged him, wondering if he was hurt or even alive.
