As a Global Mod these rules (similar to the Moderator rules) will still apply:
1. Check the board everyday if possible. If not, fortnightly is sufficient.
2. Post on a regular basis
3. Try to keep people on topic in a thread
4. Delete any nasty posts (let me know about anything you think is bad beforehand please...)
5. Recruit anyway you can, new members are always wanted
6. If you wish to "clean up" any boards, ie. delete/edit posts, please double check with me before doing so.
7. You may move topics to the places they should be. (eg. If there’s a topic about Mercury in the board about Moon, feel free to move it to it’s proper place).
The difference between Global Mods and “normal” Mods is that a Global may edit any board, they don’t have to be a moderator of it. My main concern is, that GMods don’t over power the normal mods. I trust that the “normal” Mod of a particular section can take care of it themselves. The GMods are really just my “helpers”, in that they have more “power” than a normal Mod. That is no reason to believe that you now run the board. I run it, as the Administrator. Perhaps one day I will give someone else a co-admin role, which will entitle them to the same powers as I have. But for now the Global Mods will be adequate.
As well as this, you cannot ask to become a Global Mod. I will do the asking. At the moment I’ve asked five people to take on roles as a GMod, as I feel that that is enough for the time being. If I think that I need more, I’ll ask other people if I should see fit.
You may think that I’m being a bit unfair, but I just want this board to be carefully moderated and ultimately a good, fun, and safe board for everyone who wishes to participate. I have been at other boards before that haven’t been moderated well, and they’ve just fallen apart because of all the spam, unnecessary abuse, and profuse swearing. Remember there are young people here, and others, who may be offended by a number of different things.
So… Global Mods… please don’t abuse your “powers”… because remember, I can take them away as quickly as they can be given
So to the usual saying, just have fun ;D
