OMG the dub names are evil!
I have to admit I first started watching the show in English, because that was the only version on TV. But once I started watching it in Japanese, I never went back!

No point having the Sailor Starlights since it's highly unlikely that Stars will ever be dubbed. If anyone wants, I can do the next couple of seasons with the name changes. My Sailor Moon site lists all the changes and contains theories and reasons why... if anyone is interested in taking a look. |

I have mixed feelings about the dubs. "Michelle" for a Japanese woman makes me cringe. Other than that,the dub names weren't too bad.

I grew up watching the dub at first just like everyone else. Though I learn most of the real thing from my brother. He was the first one who told me Uranus and Neptune were gay. o.o Then I came to a SM RP site that told me about the rest of the real version of SM. Heck I didn't even know the Starlights before finding that site.
Found out Zoicite was really a guy about last year or so I think. I was like wtf? o.o she's a DUDE! And the scary thing is I use to find Zoicite somewhat attracted... But really... he looks like a freaking woman most of the time excluding the Live Action.

Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the dub any more I have to say, Rini is a far better name than Chibiusa... You're basically calling her a midget for crying out loud...

They're calling him Umino at school, where being replied with 'Usagi', so I figured Umino was his given name ^_^; I guess I should change that Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the dub any more I have to say, Rini is a far better name than Chibiusa... At first Chibi-Usa, who's actual name is Usagi, protested against the patronizing nick as well, but after Mamoru sugarcoated it, she agreed to be called Chibi-Usa in order to prevent any mistakes from happening. |

Yeah... I'm pretty sure it is, though, because "Gurio" isn't normally a last name. In posters and the artbooks where all the other characters' names are written in the surname-first order, his is always written "Umino Gurio." And even though Usagi is pretty friendly, I doubt she'd call him by his first name without any suffix--she even calls Naru "Naru-chan," and I doubt she's closer to Umino than she is to Naru. (Also evidence for why "Seiya" is Seiya Kou's last name... but I digress.)
