This my Sailor Moon fanfiction. It's more of a series, almost like the manga except a fanfic. So I'm giving it a series name xDD SAILOR MOON X! And yes I realize a Wrinkle In time is a book but it totally fits with my story, and I don't give myself credit for the title, I'm just using it. Whooh! I'm using the American names (Serena, Amara, Trista) because it's what I've grew up with, since I read the manga after I saw the TV show. I do, however, like the outer scouts Japanese better, especially Setsunna and Haruka but I'm just going to be consistent. MIND YOU xD This is just the beginning. This is going to be a long progessional story. If you do respond please be totally honest! I want to know :P
Chapter 1: A New Moon
The horizon was a cloudy orange, the city lights filling the December sky. Snow fell silently, covering everything in a thin blanket of white dust. The streets were empty, except for a few brave drivers who drove slowly down the icy street. The clock struck midnight, chiming so loudly in the city square that the melting icicles shook. Serena stepped out onto her small balcony. Her shoulders shook, but she stood silently breathing in the cold air, watching as her misty breath spiraled up into the sky. The city was completely dark, even though the lights of the city were unbearable. There was no moon tonight. Serena looked into the heavens, the stars lonely without their silvery moon. This was the second night without a moon. Usually it was only one night, but this month was strange. She held herself, missing Darien desperately, who had been sent to the Moon Kingdom for something or another, Serena couldn’t remember. She sighed and walked back inside to her comfortable apartment. For the first time in her life she had felt over worked and stressed. Serena was 18 now and in her last year of high school, and she still didn’t know what really to do with her life. Sure, ruling the Moon Kingdom was there in the future, she knew it, because she had met herself in the future several years ago. She had a future and Rini to look forward to. But, she was still, in her mind, just a kid. The telephone ran obnoxiously through the hall, and Serena slowly dragged herself into the kitchen.
“Hello?” Serena said miserably.
“Hey Serena!”
“Oh…”
“Geez, Spaghetti-for-brains, don’t sound so excited!” Rei said with a goofy voice.
“Rei, it’s midnight-”
“Yeah, I know! But I couldn’t sleep, and I knew you would be up being all moody over Darien!” Serena rolled her eyes and sat down on one of the chairs in the kitchen.
“So, did you get into that college you were talking about?” Serena asked, twisted her hair.
“I’m not sure,” Rei said, with a hint of depression. “I’m really worried, Serena…”
“Look Rei, you’re really smart and talented and beautiful, you’ll be fine.”
“Thanks- are you okay, Serena?” Rei questioned.
“Yes I’m just…like you said I’m worried about Darien.”
“Yeah…hey have you noticed there is no Moon?” Rei looked out her window. Serena tilted her head so she could see the snowy sky.
“Yes, I know. That’s what worries me. But I bet it’s just covered…or something…” She said trying to reassure herself. The girls talked for a few more minutes, cheering each other up by talking about their new comic book, the newest movie, and Rei’s latest love triangle. Serena hung up the phone with a smile. Serena walked to the living room and threw herself onto the couch, she flicked on the TV but fell asleep with in minutes of turning it on.
“Sailor Moon!”
Her eyes stirred slightly, her body twitching as her sleepy head rolled back.
“Sailor Moon!”
There! She had heard it. Serena opened her eyes and walked to the balcony. She got up and stood on the railing, spreading her arms out like she could fly. Her heart told her to jump, that she would be fine. Serena let herself fall, fall into the pavement, but instead of hitting stone her body sunk through the layers of the earth and some how she was floating in outer space. She spiraled into the endlessness of the universe. A voice called her, somewhere off through the stars.
“Princess Serena!” A voice called.
“Yes…I’m here, whose calling me?”
“Look deep inside yourself, Princess. Have faith in those you love. Time will betray you!”
“Who are you?! What are you talking about?”
“You must bring light, in the darkest of times.”
Before a question could be asked, Serena felt her body lurch, as she was hurled back into the orbit of earth, shooting down to earth like a comet. Her eyes watched as the northern lights blew up in the sky, each ray filled with thousands of memories from the days of her scout-hood; Galaxia, Pegasus, Mistress 9, Pharaoh 90. Serena’s whole body went numb as her body collided with the solid pavement she was so destined to hit. Colors filled her eyes, bright and brilliant colors; nothing but colors.
"Serena..."
Someone's calling me...calling me back to the light...
"SERENA!"
"WHA?!" Serena screamed falling off the couch and banging her head on the ground.
"SERENA, It's half past seven. I can't believe I still have to wake you up for school! It's like you're still in middle school except you're taller-" Luna roared words at her, but Serena was exhausted. She changed her clothes quickly, placing a cute ribbon brooch in the center of her ribbon, which Darien had given her. She no longer wore her transforming brooch, nothing had happpened for almost 3 in a hald years. She quickly tied her shoes and ran out the door. Serena immediately froze, but Luna was running so fast!
"WAIT! Luna, I have something to tell you!' Serena yelled, running up the street in agony, her bookbag trailing in the snow behind her.
