Well, I published the first chapter of my fanfiction. Since it's too big for posting here, I'll just give you guys the link to the ff.net story. If you wanna review, please do it here (I'd like to know who of the SMO members reviews) and not on the ff.net reviews page. Thank you! www.fanfiction.net/s/2399019/1/

It's pretty good. I'm interested to know more but what I'm more interested in is...
Is English your second language? Because I know most people from the Netherlands speak dutch and you seem to have an incredibly good grasp on the English language.

Thank ya'allz, when I read over it, I was like ... damn, that looks bad. But that's probably what every fanfic writer has with their maiden story. Ohw well. And yes, English is my second language, I originally speak Dutch, but for some reason (probably all my surfing 'n chatting) I seem to be more skilled at the English language than the Dutch.

Thanks SJL, more's to come soon, as soon as I review/format it and take out all the not-so-PG-13 stuff. Mind you, the story will contain more graphic, violent stuff later on, just to warn ya'allz. They will be properly indicated, and you will be given the chance to skip them.

Another chapter out, ladies 'n gennelmen! This one's longer, and I have the feeling that I'm building up a really bad Mary Sue, and a confusing storyline, but you'll just have to read through it and accept my apologies for that.

It's hard to NOT make a bad Mary Sue. You have to avoid hte normal mary sue pitfalls:
1. Being perfect 2. All the original characters simply LOVING the Mary Sue (I must say i think you may be guilty of this one) 3. Overblown "love at first sight" - it must be built up otherwise the audience has issues. 4. Make sure the audience gets attached to the Mary Sue by having them be able to relate (Not the whole OMG I'm a angel/celestial/being and i'm so powerful) 5. Make sure your character fits in the original storyline - aka try not to make them TOO farfetched 6. Just don't over do it - don't make them too powerful, don't make them too perfect, don't make them too beautiful, don't make them too smart
My fan fic has been in the writing for over seven years now. I've come across these pitfalls while reading lots of fanficition and trying to write my own.
