I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but in the American version of the "Sailor Moon" and "Sailor Moon R" series, Amy's last name is "Anderson". But once "Sailor Moon S" premiered, they mentioned a few times of her last name being "Mizuno", her original last name....weird....maybe it has something to do with the fact that licensing rights went from DiC to Cloverway.....<shrug>

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but in the American version of the "Sailor Moon" and "Sailor Moon R" series, Amy's last name is "Anderson". Some fans would deny that Anderson was supposed to be Amy's original dub name since she does not specifically call herself "Amy Anderson."

True... But she does pick up the 'phone to "Greg", and say "Hello, Anderson residence".
You'd assume that she was at home, with her mother of the same name, as we know they live together. I don't think that they share a house with anyone else, as far as I know, so that's a thing. But Mizuno is -much- better for her, anyway (no offence to anyone who is actually an Anderson).

I totally agree I really dont like the las name Anderson. In the Matrix Neo's last name was Anderson *LOL*

In the Matrix it was alot more intentional and more meaningful. The dubbers who came up with Anderson for "Amy"'s last name simply pulled it out of their neither regions.
It means "Son of Andrew", "Andrew in turn means Man so it is "Son of Man" Which is more fitting to the character from the Matrix due to the religous overtones of the little things in it. But Mizuno is the more befitting name of the Senshi of Mizusei(Mercury in Japanese).
So much thought was put into the names of the Senshi and that thought was casually cast aside when brought over here. "Son of Man" I mean really. . .

Ami Mizuno also means Beauty of the water. "Ami" meaning beauty", "Mizu" means Water and "no" is a japanese possisive modifier, Therefore Ami Mizuno meaning Friend of Water, wich also goes with Her water/ice based attackz ^-^ , && Because of this i think Mizuno is better suited for Ami then Anderson is

Haven't seen this thread before ... But Mizuno is the more befitting name of the Senshi of Mizusei(Mercury in Japanese). That should be Suisei For the rest, I totally agree. Ami Mizuno also means Beauty of the water. "Ami" meaning beauty", "Mizu" means Water and "no" is a japanese possisive modifier, Therefore Ami Mizuno meaning Friend of Water, wich also goes with Her water/ice based attackz ^-^ , && Because of this i think Mizuno is better suited for Ami then Anderson is Might I correct you: the name's Mizuno Ami, that's the way the translation works Mizu no Ami.
