I suddenly realized I still have majorrr issues and questions that I haven't resolved yet from my dubbie days. But, as to this topic, they are all about Sailor Moon. 1)Ever since Sailor Moon S, I assumed that the Ginzuishou changed form. Am I correct? -Originally (in the R compact) the Ginzuishou is circular. -Then in the S compact, the Ginzuishou is a heart (and pink). -Then in the SuperS compact, the Ginzuishou is circular again, but pink. -Then in the Eternal compact, the Ginzuishou is a rainbow-ish star. (Which is funny because her henshin phrase in the manga is SILVER Moon Crystal Power-Make up!) Am I correct in assuming this? (That the Ginzuishou changed forms)? 2)Then what "crystal" did Sailor Moon draw her power from in Classic? She said "Moon Prism Power Make-Up" but...wait was it a crystal? No right? Explain someone! How does Sailor Moon Classic transform without the Ginzuishou? And, if it WASN'T a crystal, then its contradictory. Chibi-Usa was unable to transform into ChibiMoon because she did not have the Ginzuishou awakened. (She had it in her body). Likewise, Usagi had the Ginzuishou in her body (as a tear) but she could still transform without it being awakened. Gahhh I'm confused. Does anyone understand me? (I'm probably being really stupid right now hahas )

Hmmz, well, I don't have off-the-press answers to your questions, but I'll try 'n form a theory around them. I don't think the Ginzuishou is required for a transformation. Think about the non-Moon senshi, Tuxedo Kamen, etc. They have some pretty powerful transformations, and none of them uses anything that even moderately nears the Ginzuishou's potential. As is told in the very first episode of the anime series, Usagi receives a Transformation Brooch (correct me if I'm wrong) from Luna. She uses this to transform. The other senshi use their henshin sticks to transform, Tuxedo Kamen ... is a mystery Anywayz, I think the effect of the Ginzuishou is an increase in power for the transformation tools. After the Ginzuishou is discovered, it merges with the transformation brooch and gives it a boost in power. Since the other senshi are so close to it all the time, their henshin sticks are also upgraded. Chibi-Usa in the Sailor Moon R series is not able to transform into Sailor Chibi-Moon, because she's not awakened her senshi powers yet. It has nothing to do with her Ginzuishou, as we see in Sailor Moon S: here she can transform, but still has no Ginzuishou of her own.

Wait...ChibiMoon doesn't transform with the Ginzuishou? Holy crap what? Then what's that crystal in her little moon compact thing?
I know that members of the non-moon family do not need the Ginzuishou (duh) because they have no "relation" to it. The Ginzuishou is a moon thing.
But as to the actual Moon family, I thought that they needed the Ginzuishou at least awakened in them to transform. (That's what I thought happened with ChibiUsa). That's why I'm confused about Usagi and her first transformation. (We never get to see if her compact holds a crystal or not).
Senshi powers? Are those ever mentioned in the anime? (I dunno XD) Because I never remember hearing the phrase "senshi powers" until PGSM. And even in PGSM, not awakening senshi powers doesn't mean they couldn't transform. Jupiter, for example, didn't awaken her senshi powers until later (when she "heard" the trees XD) yet she was able to transform before that.

No, I mean senshi powers as in the ability to transform and cast attacks 'n all (I think). I'll admit it was a bad choice of words. Anywayz, I still think the Ginzuishou isn't required to transform. Furthermore, you say the Ginzuishou is a moon thing. Is it? I wonder if it is. As far as I know, it's never said to be. The fact that Sailor Moon wields it, is because it is her star seed (as we see in Stars).

my theory (totally random) is that The power of the ginzouishou that sent Usagi into the future hung around and "stuck" to her. She used this and drew on it throught the beginning of the first season, but it eventually wore off, which is why her powers kept failing at the beginning of the second series until Luna gave her the new brooch/compact that had the ginzouishou in it. So, thats my story and I'm sticking to it. -L

That's why I'm confused about Usagi and her first transformation. (We never get to see if her compact holds a crystal or not). Remember, though, that before the Ginzuishou was revealed, Luna and the senshi had no idea that Usagi was the Moon Princess. In the anime, they're still searching for her when it's revealed (they even ask Venus if she's the princess, who actually is a decoy princess in the manga). I'm thinking that Luna may have given Usagi a "regular" brooch upon their first meeting, though perhaps Usagi did draw from the power of the Ginzuishou for help transforming/fighting even before they knew she had it? As for the Ginzuishou's changing forms, my theory is that the Ginzuishou may change appearance according to how it's used. In the R movie, although it's circular in Moon's R compact, it becomes flower-shaped when combined with the power of the Inners and Tuxedo Kamen and used to prevent the Kisenian asteroid from destroying Earth. This situation called for more power from the Ginzuishou, so I think it changed form to reflect that. Also, I think the Ginzuishou became pink and heart-shaped in the S series because it was created from the combined love and power of Moon and Tuxedo Kamen. The Ginzuishou in its circular form had lost its luster, and this new form accurately reflected the love from which it was created and its increased power. Think about the S movie as well. Although the Ginzuishou is pink and heart shaped in the S series and still in this form in the earlier fights against the Snow Dancers, it changes to become large, white, and sort of diamond-shaped when used in the final battle against Snow Kaguya. Again, I think this is because of its increased power (it gained power from all the senshi except Saturn). I haven't seen much of SuperS, nor do I really remember the SuperS movie, so I can't comment on that. But I think the same goes for the Eternal compact in Stars; again, since more power was required of the Ginzuishou and given into it (this time, all senshi give their power except for Chibimoon, from what I recall), it changed form to reflect that. At least, that's my idea.

Waittttt a minute
The Ginzuishou was revealed ALONG with the whole Princess thing in the anime. It was in that episode where Kunzite and Zoicite trapped all the senshi in some tower. Same episode where Mamoru is revealed to be Tuxedo Mask (he also transforms in this one), and where Zoicite died.
So...wait whu? Becuz, they ask Venus if she's the princess BEFORE they find the Ginzuishou.
And...the fact that the Ginzuishou IS Usagi's starseed makes it a Moon family thing. Did you see Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Saturn wielding the Ginzuishou? (ever?)
Hm...what crystal is in Chibi Moon's compact? I always assumed it was the Ginzuishou from the future.

Becuz, they ask Venus if she's the princess BEFORE they find the Ginzuishou. Yes, I know. I was bringing up the Moon Princess confusion to show that Luna may not have given Usagi a brooch with a crystal (Ginzuishou or not) inside (and, being a brooch, it wouldn't have anything inside nor be able to open anyway). Maybe Moon did not need the Ginzuishou to transform/attack before it was revealed? Moon Tiara Action, Tiara Stardust, and Twilight Flash (manga) use her tiara, and her Healing Escalation wand does not have any crystal on it beforehand. Now that I'm thinking of it that way, it actually makes a lot of sense. Then again, I know in the manga Moon mentions a "warm feeling" before using Healing Escalation to an extreme extent to revive many people, so perhaps she can draw on a little power of the Ginzuishou inside her body before it's awakened? Of course, "warm feeling" could mean anything (might've just meant an intense feeling of strength or bravery as helped along by Tuxedo Kamen), but it's a thought. I just mentioned the questioning of Venus as an example to show that they still did not know the Moon Princess's identity even at that point. Sorry for the confusion.

I don't know about the shape thing but I have a something to say about the transformation theory. All the other senshi transform without the Ginzuishou and they do have powerful transformations. I always thought "Moon Prism Power, Make up" was used with the Ginzuishou. She used it any other time didn't she. And at the end.
About the shape thing, what about the Crescent moon Wand. Wasn't the Ginzuishou in that thing.(Off topic kind of, but what happened to the Ginzuishou in the crscent wand in PGSM?)
Another thing about the shape thing(wow my ideas are coming quick), maybe the Ginzuishou is the same shape but the some of it may only be shown in the locket, or whatever it is. Remember in the R movie where the Ginzuishou is taken out of her locket and it is really big, bigger than it is in the locket.

I'm only replying to the "mystery" of Tuxedo Kamen's transformation.
I think in the first season & the part of SMR where Mamoru & Usagi are broken up, it illudes to Mamoru's transformation being "brought about" (lack of better terminology) by a feeling of wanting to save Sailor Moon whenever he feels she's in trouble. Kinda along the lines of why Moonlight Knight shows up before Mamoru remembers being Tuxedo Kamen. Did I make sense or did this prolly all sound better in my head?

It sounds fine to me. About the "mystery" thing, maybe he doesn't need any henshin sticks or brooches or anything to transform. This may sound a little weird, but I think his love for Sailor Moon is so great that whenever she needs him he knows he needs to be there, so maybe their love helps him transform?

When Sailor Moon was in Prince Demando's castle, the Ginzuishou's energy was canceled out. She could not transform.
In the beginning of S, the brooch wasn't working and Sailor Moon could not transform until it was working again.
I think she needs the brooch to transform.
(Of course in the manga, they never need their henshin pens/brooch)

Well, that doesn't directly answer the question. Of course, it could be that the Senshi rely on their attributes in order to transform, rather than actually need them. But that's just speculation I guess.
