No, 'Kou' is the last name of the starlights. The fact that they're Japanese causes them to say it family name - first name, so 'Kou Seiya', 'Kou Yaten' and 'Kou Taiki'. Same with 'Tsukino Usagi', 'Mizuno Ami', 'Hino Rei', 'Kino Makoto' and 'Aino Minako', and of course all the other names in the series.

Well thank you.. But I dont think she will be going with that way any time soon.
She seems inclinded to think that Yaten is Yatens Last name and Kou is his first. And the same with the others.
Needless to say for me it has ruined the Rp the way it happened. But thank you for clairifying it for me.

Kou is their last name yeah. In the anime they say it as Yaten Kou, Seiya Kou, and Taiki Kou and the generally accepted reason is because they are pop stars and pop stars often americanize their names for the purpose of being famous and emulating western society.
Take Ayumi Hamasaki as a prime example.

I think it's kind of an ongoing debate as to whether "Kou" is their last or first name. I tend to think it's their last, because if they were going to invent names to use on Earth, you'd think they wouldn't all use the same one. But regardless, I think their "real" names are Fighter, Healer, and Maker. Seiya/Yaten/Taiki Kou are just aliases they made up. "Seiya" is definitely used as a girl's first name, and "Taiki" is used as a given name too. As for "Yaten"... I have no idea ^^; Never heard of anyone else named Yaten (except SMO's own Yaten, of course )

Sorry for the RDT but... I stand corrected. Kou is probably their first name. Some of the Seramyu programs have their names written in English letters as Kou Yaten, etc. Those same programs have the other senshi's names in Western order. If they were going to write the others in Western order, I don't think they'd switch the Starlights for no apparent reason. Besides, I've read somewhere that names written in kanji are always in Japanese order. It's only romaji that can be switched.
