Is there a rule about not reviving old topics? If there is not, I think there should be. I think it's rather annoying when a topic is unactive, and the last post is April 2004 and someone posts in it and it's January 2006. There is more then a years difference in between. Just a thought. :x

Is there a particular reason why you find that annoying?

I think that new members come here and want to talk about the old topic, doesn't bother me one bit ;D.

Perhaps it's because they see the rule about us not wanting two topics about the same thing, heh...
I think it can be good to revive old threads sometimes, so that people who might have posted in them earlier can read them again to see if they still agree with what they wrote originally, etc...

Eh it's all good... Personally I don't see a problem with it myself...

Neither do I. Having the old topics allows us newer folk to be able to see what others had to say, regardless of WHEN it was said. Heh, not to mention, it allows us to know who is that interested in the topics to go through & find one they want to revive...

Purely for the sake of having a counter-argument: I think it's rather annoying to see someone revive an old (dead?) thread with a reply such as 'I agree', or 'okay', or a combination of smilies (gotta hate those) or somethin.

Well yeah, because that doesn't add anything to the thread anyway, but if they actually write something with meaning then it's fine...
Besides, some people just reply with "Yeah" or "I think so too" to the new threads as well, which is equally annoying to me.

A thread that's done and over with being bumped is more annoying IMHO.

Just delete the useless post then, heh, I dunno. Then again, at least if an old thread is bumped, it might catch the eye of someone who is actually willing to contribute something worthwhile to it...

Meh, I'll just leave'em there and try to ignore it. If they do have something good to contribute, and manage to start up the thread again, then that's a good thing.

Yace! Then it's settled. No rule need apply... UNLESS! I state that you have to add something worthwhile to a thread like that, and not just say "yeah" or whatever. Surely the people have more to say than just that? Perhaps validate your reasons for that "yeah"...? *heads off to rule thread*
