I've noticed of late, a lot of people are looking for SM products and items, but are unable to get them. Since I'm a huge fan of selling and buying and trading, I was thinking it would be a great idea to make a Trading Post, where people can do that sortof thing and not have their thread get in amongst some of the clutter in the forums. I've been doing this sort of thing since I was ten... so, nearly a decade now. I've already done a transaction with a girl on this board, I am on EBay, and I have lots of references. *sheepish look* Okay, and I just cleaned out my room and found a whole whack of Sailor Moon stuff that I don't want anymore, or would be willing to trade for something else. And well, it would be nice to sell/trade with fellow SailorMoon fans for other items, as opposed to putting them on EBay where prices are ridiculous (Yeah, I could get my stuff for ridiculous prices, but I'd rather work with a fan ). As well, people are having trouble with getting the episodes, so I was wanting to make a thread where if people wanted episodes, they could send me CD's and I would be more than happy to do that for them... ditto for CD's, music, the movies, and etc. In addition to this... I think we need to liven this board up a bit. I was thinking about holding a contest, maybe with some goodies as prizes. I'm just not sure how to go about doing this. Should it be a fan art one? Or something. Anyways, just suggestion, as the forum implies. -Andie

Interesting idea...
The suggestion of contests has been around for a while now, we were just unsure of how to get the interest of other members...
*will discuss with GMods*

Now this sounds like a Cool idea! If we could set it up right that is. For example, as great as people are on this site, posting your address on the internet is a really good way to get into a really big amount of trouble. Otherwise it is a sweet idea. Hmmmm....how to do it though....

It could be done with Email, at least that way there is more privacy if addresses are sent around...
Then again, there are people who aren't allowed to trade online without a parent's permission, or not at all, so they would miss out...
If it were possible, Ebay would probably be the safest bet, but then people outside of this board would have an interest in items as well, so members here wouldn't get the only look in...
It's a great idea, but it has to be worked out in such a way as to keep a bit of security as far as addresses go... unless you just get a PO BOX one, so then your home address is safe...

Well, you could state that all addresses must be exchanged through email. However, this site here: www.laundromatic.netdoes everything through PM's and if the seller/buyer wants, email. I've never had a problem with exchanging addresses through email, for EBay, laundro, other MB's, and etc. You just would have to make it clear that address exchange through the boards would not be permitted. I really hope something can be worked out ... who do you have to go through? It's your board, you should be able to add any sort of forum that you would like, no? You would of course need moderators... to keep people in line with making threads, such as one want list per person or one sales list per person. Or, could have a Sailor Moon forum and then another forum for other items, such as anime or something. I just want a place where people (especially some of the younger fans) can find Sailor Moon items... especially because a lot of items are not available in stores, can only be bought online, and can only be purchased from Japan. So, you either need to have a credit card, have access to one, or be at least eighteen. An example is that girl who has been looking for the TV Hits CD for a while. EBay has great prices sometimes, but you need to have a credit card to get an account. If her parents won't let her buy it off of the net and she can't get someone to ship it in, how is she going to get it? People can make copies, but it's not like the original item. The only option left for her is for someone to get it for her who has access to online purchasing and/or a credit card. The same thing goes for episodes, other CD's, collector's items, any of the new PGSM stuff, and manga, and etc. Ahh, everyone should be able to share in the goodness that is Sailor Moon.

Once again I like it. As long as we can work it out safely it'll be a blast!

Eek! *jumps up and down* I'm very excited. I need to unload some Sailormoon stuff to be able to buy more! Or, at the very least, trade some for new stuff.
Anybody looking for English manga (aka graphic novels)? I've got the English version in 35 comics as well! Oh, PGSM on DVD episodes 1-26, Sailor Moon S 3-DVD set. Stickers, photoframes, CD's, playing cards, Sailor V stuff... keychains, cosplay stuff, computer stuff...
Hurry, hurry...! *scurries off to make a list*

I haven't really thought about pricing yet. I was wondering whether I should sell the manga in sections or as books or as one whole thing.
I was thinking $5.00-$6US for each manga. They retail for $10.00 and I paid $7.50 for each. So, I'm actually out money, but it was money well spent. I still have the Japanese collection... which I love dearly.
As for the comics, most likely $3.00 each or something. I dunno. Again, in sections or as a set?
The thing is, I don't want to rip anyone off, nor do I want to undersell the items. I'm always willing to negotiate and discount shipping and make bonuses- buy two get stickers or something like that.
My other option is EBay, but it has fees and there are some people out there who make selling such a hassle.
As for the PGSM DVD's, they'll probably be up at $10.00US each. That's what I paid for them... excluding S&H. So, $50.00 for the set or something. I wish I had a DVD burner to just make people copies for free.
I also custom buy for people. So, places like JP Queen and stuff... I'll gladly buy from. Or, SakuraMedia... which has huge discounts on CD's... the Taiwan ones, though. But, still.
As well, I have all of the episodes, movies, specials, interviews, Memorial Music Box, games, and etc on a CD collection, so I would burn people those if they sent me CD's.
What are you looking for? What are you interested in? Is there something you want but don't know where to find it? I can order it and send it to you if it's online. I'm pretty good at finding things.

I'll make a section, with very specific rules, just for safety reasons, ok?
The Mods will be me, the GMods, and you, Andie, because it was your idea in the first place, ok?
What we'll do is this: People wanting to sell or trade can start a thread, and state what it is they want to sell/trade, and anyone who is interested (18 or over), can post a reply, then you can deal with them through PMs or emails for the rest of the transaction...
Then people who are actually looking for something they can't find, can start a thread and post what it is they're looking for, and anyone who wants to can reply, etc...
Does that sound OK?

That sounds fine with me, but what younger ones want to jump in? I don't know the demographics for the board... I just don't want to eliminate or exclude a whole chack of people. I fit can be done, that would be great, if not, that's fine.
Or, are you able to password forums? It may be a lot of work, but if you give only the 18 years + people a password, it could work that way.

That could work... Now I just gotta go through all the members to find the 18+ people, LOL... oh the joy Oooh GMods! Little help? I'm just thinking it might be better to make it 18+ because younger people may not have permission to do things online... Or maybe we could lower it to 15+, it'd fit more people in at least... and if they aren't allowed to do any online trading then they just don't post there *shrug* Actually that's a better idea. Instead of closing it to just 18+, we could have it open to everyone who is allowed to do online trading/buying/selling - and if they aren't, they just shouldn't post in the section at all... And if we see any posts in there saying "I'm not allowed to buy things online" we can just delete it because it doesn't need to be said in there at all... Does that sound a bit better? Makes it easier in a way, anyway...

Nice idea, too bad I can't participate. I guess I can still moderate though. The rules do have to be ultra specific, but since it's online and stuff, and you don't want to get into legal troubles, I would just make it 18+, because you are bound to have people lying and stuff... (just a thought).

Yeah, it's hard... I'd have to put a lot of Disclaimers up...

I honestly do not see the problem. Do you not trust people? If they're going to lie, they're going to lie and you can't really do anything about it, can you? They could have lied and said they were thirteen to join the board.
There is no possible way of knowing. As well, I think people would be responsible enough to know whether they can buy and trade stuff, no? If not, then it's no one's fault but their own... especially if you put a disclaimer and they disregard it.
Anyways, if you're reconsidering making a board... just... don't. *sigh* I've been arguing way too much today over such ridiculous things, that at this moment, if it's going to be too much of a hassle, just don't waste your time. I'll take my stuff elsewhere.
It was just an idea, so it doesn't have to get off the ground. As long as I can make a post somewhere... if people are interesting in buying manga or comics or DVD's... or CD's, whatever, then I'm fine. I don't think a whole board has to be made, no?
Now, which forum to post in... merchandise or something?
(*note, not trying to sound like a bitch or whatever, or snotty, or rude, I just don't want to create more work for people. Honestly.)
