Kagome was distraught after yet again having to deal with seeing Inuyasha dote after Kikyo, this time was terrible... he didn't kiss her, but his eyes... the look in his eyes told her enough... and even after everything they have been through, Inuyasha still took her for granted...
Inuyasha ran off after their arguement, and Miroku, Sango, and Shippo concoled her...
"Don't worry Kagome, he will see it sooner or later, that he loves you, and not her..."
Sango said cheerfully, hoping to raise her spirits...
"Yes, it is quite obvious that he has feelings for you, but can nothing bring them out from that walled heart of his?!"
"I think Inuyasha is just being stupid again..."
Kagome was thankful her friends tried to help her, but it wasn't working...
As they sat in the forest next to a nice roaring camp fire, they began to hear strange foot-steps...
"What is that?!"
Suddenly a being covered in metal carrying a large blade on his back emerged near the camp fire...
"Excuse me for intruding, I saw your fire, and as I approached I couldn't help but overhear your conversation..."
"What are you?!"
Shippo shouted.... The being, appeared puzzled and pulled his head off to reveal a human head, with long blonde hair and Blue eyes.... Kagome then recognised that it was in fact a man wearing european style plate armor...
"Forgive me... my name is Gunner... as I said I overheard your conversation, I would gladly help you as I know ways of getting through thick skulls such as this man of yours..."
"Your wearing German armor? Are you from Germany?"
"Yes, actually... how is it that you know where I am from? Usually no one knows where I am from by looks alone..."
"Well I learned from school... they taught us about you..."
Kagome then spent half an hour explaining to Gunner about how she had gone through a well and ended up in this time... Gunner was quite calm even though he had just met someone from the distant future....
"Hmmm... this is most fascinating... Kagome...But what is it with this man, Inuyasha? He loves her, but he doesn't express it?"
"Yes, Inuyasha could be described as... well... Shippo, help me out here..."
"I believe the word is Idiot, Miroku..."
"Yeah that's a good one...Anyway, but his ressurected love is an obstacle, but if inuyasha would realise that Kagome is the one he truly loves, then he would probably stop being so foolish... I mean when you get right down to it, Kagome is the Reincarnation of Kikyo's soul, and Kikyo is just resurrected clay with only a hint of Kikyo's actual so- this sounds very strange doesn't it?"
"It is strange, but that bears no weight in the matter... Kagome, do you or don't you love him?"
"I-I do..."
"Then you must make him so Jealous he can't see straight... from his decription, he sounds like he would fight at the drop of a hat... but you seem like one who wouldn't allow it, am I correct?"
"Yes..."
"Then... if you don't mind, why don't I take the place of his "competition" You and I will act as though we are in love... but don't worry, we will only be pretending... Is this okay with you?"
"Well... are you sworn to the code of Chilvalry?"
"Yes, my lady I am. I can assure you that no harm nor foul will befall you... my intent is to help you, as I cannot bear to see the tears of a maid with a broken heart."
Kagome had hardly noticed she was crying throughout the whole conversation... she wiped her tears off of her now blushing cheeks...
Gunner put a sympathetic arm on her shoulder...
"Don't worry, I will get him to not only admit he is in love with you, but I will get him so riled up you will be the ONLY thing on his mind...That and probably killing me...And if he wants to fight, let him...I can handle him, as I have faced demons in my home country like him..."
Kagome couldn't hold back the tears at the thought of Inuyasha finally making a choice...and actually choosing her... as Gunner explained the plan to Kagome, Sango, Miroku and Shippo, they all laughed at what the next few days would entail...
At Dawn Inuyasha returned to find no one greeting him...
"Well this is a fine welcome..."
"Oh, it's you..."
Miroku said as disdainfully as he could...
Shippo wiped his sleepy eyes, and yawned as he looked at Inuyasha, then without saying anything turned over and went back to sleep...
"What the HELL is the matter with you guys!!!"
"Oh so you expect a warm welcome everytime you make Kagome cry throughout the night, while you just run off without saying a thing?!"
Sango said sternly...
"We took care of her all night, we're staying here another day and night since it's so peaceful..."
"Where's Kagome?"
"She doesn't want to speak to you, Inuyasha..."
Sango said even more stern than the last time...
"Besides... some guy came last night, and just before dawn they left together..."
"SHIPPO!"
"What?! I didn't say anything bad!!!"
"You weren't supposed to tell him..."
Miroku slapped himself in the face, trying not to laugh at this days events...
"Oh... sorry..."
"WHAT!!! SHE LEFT WITH SOME STRANGER!!!!"
"Yes... he's actually charming, unlike a certain someone... I wish he would have proclaimed his love for me, like he did Kagome..."
Sango forced her face to blush... as she held her face and began giggling...
"Lucky her..." Miroku thought...
"She gets to laugh at this, I actually have to keep a straight face during this, and that look on Inuyasha's face right now makes me want to cry with laughter..."
Inuyasha's face was beet red, with a scowl that made the others want to burst into laughter...
"When did they go?!"
"You should have seen it, Inuyasha... He picked her up in his arms... and carried her out, Kagome's face was as fed as yours... I think they might even get married..."
Shippo said excited...
"They have cake at weddings don't they?"
And as Shippo began to fantasise about the delicious treats a wedding would hold...
"I wonder what their children would look like?"
Miroku mused aloud...
"Hmmm... with Gunner's blonde hair and blue eyes, and Kagome's face... that would make a most beautiful child."
Miroku nodded with a solemn expression on his face.
All the more Inuyasha felt a rage build within him... but what was said next was the final straw...
"I wonder if Kagome is going to get married to him within the week, as Gunner suggested..."
"WHAT?!?! KAGOME WOULD NEVER!!!"
"She would..."
"...And she did..."
Miroku said and Shippo finished...
"WHERE ARE THEY, I WANT TO SEE THIS FOR MYSELF!!!"
Miroku got up and led the way... the others followed after Inuyasha, trying not to laugh as Inuyasha saw the scene...
There was a tent and a campfire dying to embers...
Kagome's uniform could be seen on the ground as could Gunner's armor...
At this sight, Inuyasha was stammering incoherently...
Suddenly their was laughter...
Inuyasha followed it to findGunner and Kagome leaning against a rock, they were bathing in a river and lounging... both of them in the nude...
(Actually, Gunner and Kagome were wearing a fabric that covered them, but was flesh colored, the parts covered in the fabric were submerged in the water, so Inuyasha couldn't tell...)
Inuyasha's jaw fell to the ground...
He pointed his finger and tried not to utter a sentence comprised completely of swear words....
"Ahhhh... this is so relaxing... Eh, Kagome? Just think... In Germany, I have a private bathhall, where the water is either as hot or cold as you wish it to be, with a tub big enough for the two of us..."
Gunner flashed a smile across his handsome face, ever the talented actor... He put his arm around Kagome's shoulders, Kagome forced a blush, that actually looked quite sincere... They both looked up at Inuyasha, and Kagome screamed as she covered herself...
Inuyasha blushed then turned around, giving them enough time to get out of the water and into towels to cover the fabric and preserve the illusion...
Miroku was hard pressed to keep a straight face as he and Inuyasha had their backs turned... and Sango couldn't resist the line she had been given to say in front of Inuyasha...
"Oh, my... He is definately royalty..."
She forced another blush as she turned away, giggling all the while...
Miroku was about to suffocate, because he couldn't breathe, if he did, he wouldn't be able to stop himself from laughing...
Inuyasha had a scowl on his face that made him look like he was in a Kabuki play, face bright red...
Shippo began to laugh at inuyasha's face and said...
"If looks could kill, Inuyasha wouldn't need Tetsuiga to slay a hundred demons with one strike!"
And as Inuyasha chased Shippo around, Miroku was finally given his reprieve, he laughed hard at what was happening around him, and what Shippo said was the final straw...
"Inuyasha, SIT BOY!!"
Inuyasha was pulled hard to the ground before he could lay a hand on Shippo, whom sighed a breath of relief...
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT FOR!!!"
"Because your being obnoxious..."
Gunner said in earnest...Kagome nodded...
"And what the hell is this?! Kagome, what are you doing with him? AND WHY WERE YOU BOTH NAKED?!"
Kagome and Gunner were now in their regular clothes, and Kagome let out a gasp of offense...
Gunner, reacted by slapping Inuyasha across the face...
"HOW DARE YOU! I will not allow you to offend my bride to be with your crude and ill-mannered behavior!"
"Kagome is not yours!"
"WHO ASKED YOU?!"
Kagome shouted at Inuyasha...
"Last time I checked you were being strung along by Kikyo... so when I met Gunner, how could I refuse him?"
"Kikyo has nothing to do with this!
"Doesn't she?!"
Gunner began speaking...
"At every turn you have mistreated this poor girls heart, treating like royalty until this Kikyo person arrives, then you leave her for the wolves...
Foolish imp, you can have your Woman of clay, I choose this Warm woman to be my blushing bride..."
Inuyasha was speechless as Gunner grabbed Kagome's hand hands and lightly kissed them, leaving Kagome to force another blush...
Gunner then embraced Kagome and leaned her back, the angle making it look like Gunner was kissing Kagome to Inuyasha, his face was close, but not touching... Gunner gave a reassuring wink to Kagome that they were succeeding...
Inuyasha began to move, if Gunner didn't actually kiss her then, he would have seen through the ruse...
Looking into Kagome's eyes he prayed she would understand the meaning...
Kagome knew, and while frightened at the situation, she trusted him and closed her eyes,
Gunner leaned in and gently pressed his lips to hers, but maintained his honor, by keeping his mouth closed, even though the kiss looked more passionate...
Kagome didn't feel fear, she knew that in plays they kissed, and had to act as though they were en-passioned lovers, as such she decided to add more to it...
She gave a slight moan...
Inuyasha was so close to exploding he couldn't stand it...
The kiss ended, and Gunner looked into Kagomes eyes to make sure she was alright... She gave a warm smile, to reassure him...
Gunner looked toward Inuyasha and began speaking...
"If you have feelings for her, then why haven't they been expressed?! You Cad! You actually think a woman will accept being treated as such? Kagome is a fine young woman, and unless you make some great proclamation... I suggest you leave here at once!"
As Inuyasha turned away, Gunner winked at Kagome, reassuring her that all was well...
and as They went back to his tent, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo followed Inuyasha, and were going to keep him stewing all day...
