Sango and the Ancient Master...

[Kabal]

It was a very windy day on the plains.
Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Kagome, Shippo, and Kilala had just had a difficult battle against a rather large snake demon, and Sango was inspecting her weapon very carefully.

"Hey, Sango! What's the hold-up! Is your Hiraikotsu broken?!" Inuyasha blurted out.
Sango looked at him eyes half closed, not amused at all by his attitude.
"Hiraikotsu didn't work against it, it bounced off..."

"So it bounced off, so your weapon doesn't work on everything, no weapon does!"

"This one is supposed to work on demons like that, Inuyasha... I have tried to fix it before, but apparently I haven't yet.
I must go see someone about this, if you don't mind..."

Inuyasha, visibly flustered, and about to start yelling at Sango, was pulled to the ground by those most despised of words...
"SIT BOY!"
Inuyasha hit the ground hard, with a loud thump, denting the hard clay with his entire body.
"Sango, why don't we come with you, since Naraku hasn't been spotted I figure it would be good for a rest wouldn't it?"

"KAGOME!!! Why the hell do you keep doing that!!"
Inuyasha yowled as he raised his head up, his face completely covered in clay.
Kagome ignored Inuyasha, and awaited Sango's answer.
"Perhaps this is a good time for it."

Sango, not wanting any trouble, asked Inuyasha for the detour in plans.
And Inuyasha, knowing full well that Kagome could and probably would say "Sit" again, agreed, as, if anything, agreeing was much better for his health.

"Alright, where are we headed?"
Inuyasha caved in, asking...
"Crab mountain..."

Shippo froze up when he heard that name...
"CRAB MOUNTAIN! THAT MOUNTAIN IS HAUNTED BY A TERRIBLE CRAB DEMON WHO HUNTS HUMANS AND DEMONS ALIKE!! WE CAN'T GO THERE!!! IT'S TOO---"

Inuyasha already re-annoyed, socked Shippo in the head, causing a big bump to appearon the top.

"So, it's haunted huh..."
Inuyasha began to flex his fingers.

"Inuyasha, that Crab demon is who we are going to see."
Sango stated matter of factly.
"That Crab demon is ancient, he appeared from the stars several centuries ago, and when he saw my ancestors fighting for their lives and losing against demons, he fought them off, and then my people the way of the hunt, he made us weapons better suited against demons, and taught us how to make them, he taught us his language and learned ours. He is a mighty warrior, and I remember as a child, my father introducing him to me, He was so enourmous, I would say about Nine feet tall..."

"He's probably in real life only about four feet tall, you know how kids see everyone they admire as Nine feet tall."
Miroku jested towards Inuyasha, upon which Sango landed her Hiraikotsu hard against Miroku's head, whom was now up to his knees in clay.

Sango was not pleased with the disrespect, and looked at Inuyasha, whom had a look of indifference.

They walked for half a day and reached the mountain, and rested for an hour before resuming their journey.

Every now and then, Kagome got the feeling of being watched, and Sango would look up at the trees and smile slightly.

The party began to hear a chanting, to which Sango stopped...
"What's wrong Sango?!"
Kagome asked, concerned...

"I must pray..."
Sango gestured towards a rather grisly marker, a Skull with a sign, with unintelligble characters on it.
Sango began praying aloud, repeating word for word the chant they were hearing, her head bowed and hands together, Inuyasha had a funny feeling at the sound of the chanting, but kept it to himself.

After a few minutes the chanting ceased, and the party crossed up to an alcove in the mountain where they saw someone sitting.
He was definately the crab demon Shippo mentioned, he had four mandibles with large tusks at the end, long grayish black dreadlocks, his eyes were closed, he was sitting in the lotus position, meditating, the chant, now obviously a mantra. His skin was a pale yellow, covered by net-like armor, a pile of weaponry and armor sat at the side of the cave.
As they entered the cavern, the Crab opened his eyes, which were yellow, he clicked his mandibles when he noticed Sango.

"It has been ages, Master No-ru-kai."
"It has... Pupil Sango."

No-Ru-kai Stood tall as he patted the head of his once young, now grown student.
Miroku and Inuyasha were dumbfounded to find that Sango's description of the Crab were accurate, he was a little over nine-feet tall, Sango who was not that short seemed dwarfed by this Demon's size.

"Little knife... Why is your Hiraikotsu so large?"
Sango was confused,
"Too large?"
"Yes, it seems someone fixed it by adding layers to it, to penetrate armor, it must be thinner, not to mention it must weigh well over what it was intended... This is why you came?"
"Yes, Master."

The old Crab chuckled, it had been so long since he had seen Sango, she and her kin were the closest thing to family he had.
"Then by the way of the Yautja, I shall repair it."

"Yautja" The others thought to themselves... pondering the meaning as No-ru-kai took the weapon from Sango and walked to the back of the cavern.
Sango herself was elated to be in the company of her old mentor, and would enjoy spending time with him, not to mention the others would get to know him.

It was nightfall now, and the cave was full of light, Kagome was shocked to see that after No-Ru-Kai had cut off major sections of Sango's Hiraikotsu, he was using a welder to melt the metal and seal the cracks caused by the thinning of the weapon.

Kagome could see why Sango had such respect for this demon, as he was very intelligent, and he seemed rather mystical, as he has been chanting since he started repairs.

The moon was fully risen, by the time The old Crab was done. "It needs to cool, it will take till morning."
Inuyasha looked at the now very much thinner weapon and scoffed...
"That thing looks like it would break if you try to hit anything larger than a bug with it..."

No-Ru-Kai looked at Inuyasha for a second, then looked at Sango.
"Little Knife, do you keep the dog-man as a pet? If so, then why does he yap as though he has no master?"

All but Inuyasha laughed at the comment from the old Crab, Inuyasha went to swing his fist at the back of the old Crab's head, and was shocked to find that not only did He grab his fist, but he threw him across the cave with a hiss...

"Such insolence. You would do well to learn some respect Inuyasha. If you don't like ill-comments, then don't act like an upstart, show respect, and respect will be given."

Inuyasha had since recovered and was ready to pull Tetsuaiga from it's sheath. No-Ru-Kai laughed slightly. "You wish to challenge me? Heh, allright, but only till first Thwei, no death as your companions seem concerned..."
"First Thwei?" Inuyasha's ears twitched as he heard the unfamiliar word...
"First blood."

No-Ru-Kai stood up, and went to his armaments and gathered them up, Sango had a slight grin as only she knew what to expect from the old Crab.
No-Ru-Kai placed his visor upon his face and picked up a belt like item, with many devices atached to it, and picked up his weapon. A very short stick like item.
Sango laughed as she said, "Don't kill him please..."
No-Ru-Kai patted her head with the response, "Koutchic cerklisastaras..."

"What the hell does that mean?!" Inuyasha howled.
"It means, Even one with no honor, can learn easily with a bruise on his head. There is a flat surface we can fight to the right side of the cave entrance."

Everyone else followed, to see what would happen, Inuyasha pulled his Tetsuaiga, it's blade now very large.
No-Ru-Kai held the small stick like object, it was no longer than his forearm...

"Heh, you think you can beat me with that little stick?" Inuyasha taunted, but he could not see No-Ru-Kai smiling under his visor.
With a sudden click, the stick became a very dangerous looking spear, to which No-Ru-Kai began to twirl it around his wrist and between his fingers with a familiarity and mastery that only centuries could bring.

The old Demon brought it over his head, and roared his honor to all who could hear, Inuyasha was slightly Vexxed by the Crab's now more apparent skill.
No-Ru-Kai brought his spear to the side of his head, awaiting Inuyasha the first move,
and he didn't need a visor to see wind accumulating around his opponents blade, it would three seconds for the attack to occur, No-Ru-Kai figured,
and with his left hand he pulled a little ring, that with a push of a button extended six large finger like blades that curved, he threw the weapon at Inuyasha whom was still at second two of using His wind-scar, the weapon was aimed to distract, as it sliced through some of Inuyasha's hair that was blown up by the wind...
"What the..." Inuyasha began to say but opted instead to attack.
He released the wind scar too late, as No-Ru-Kai was on his side and knocked the blade from his grasp and held his spear across his neck, only very slightly cutting any flesh...
"First blood has been reached, young one."
Inuyasha's eyes widened, he was defeated in two and a half seconds, he was humiliated, but only in his eyes, No-Ru-Kai saw potential in this one, though respect would need to be learned before anything could be done.
The blade No-Ru-Kai threw earlier no returned to his hand, to which he retracted the blades and replaced it back on his belt. He also retracted his spear, and gave Inuyasha a cloth to tend the very small cut on his neck, which was not near any vital points.

With everyone back at the cave, a device began to ring... No-Ru-Kai picked it up and pushed a button, and began talking...

"Hakithimashtine..."
{Aprathgokegitsne} Was replied back through the device...

"Dokrustiasprathmes!"
{rekrism...masthweiincrustku}
"Masthwei?"
{Masthwei.}
{Kamachina...Sekt-Su-Kas... Masthwei.}

After that last phrase, the device switched off...
No-Ru-Kai was very pale...
"Master, what troubles you?"
No-Ru-Kai's face contorted into what appeared to be a grimace.
"Little knife, my time is coming soon... The Clan leader is coming to slay me in a duel, this is why I have been here for so long."

"What?!" Sango was terrified, she did not want her mentor to die, at least, not like this.
"Little Knife... I was exiled for Two hundred and fifty years, because I would not bow to the clan leader Asd-Das-Kinch.
He was not worthy, he had no honor, and so, I bowed not, to him.
Now, there is a new clan leader, and he must fight me to the death, If I lose I die, If I win, He lives and my honor is restored.
I must fight the clan leader, Sekt-Su-Kas, he was my best student, and one of the only one's to believe me to be correct, now I must fight him when he comes. I must prepare..."
Sango had tears in her eyes, it was like losing another family member,
No-Ru-Kai brushed a tear from her left eye.
"Cry not, Little knife. My time here was very well spent, You and your kin brightened my spirit, and have given me much pride in their achievement."

Sango bowed her head as, No-Ru-Kai removed his visor, and looked in her eyes, He closed his mandibles, and kept the points of the tusks inside his mouth as he made a very fatherly kiss to the top of Sango's head, to which Sango embraced him. She didn't want him to die.

"Little Knife. I am very proud of you. Your strength has grown far more than any could have expected, I must prepare for my battle now, you can stay and watch if you wish, but always know that you were very much a Daughter to me, keep to your path, and you shall never fail."

Sango let go of her embrace and watched with the others as he began to prep his weapons, and began another chant.

Hello, Kagome here, apparently Sango's old mentor and friend No-Ru-Kai has been challenged by an old student to a fight to the death...
WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE CAN'T WIN?! Inuyasha, SIT BOY!!!

No-Ru-Kai had been training all night. He had been using his spear, as well as his wrist blades. Cutting down trees with ease, and roaring after every successful attempt.

Sango Watched him diligently. No-Ru-Kai, been training for hours straight, needed a rest. Sango brought him some water she had gathered earlier. After done drinking, No-Ru-Kai returned to the cave where Kagome, and Inuyasha were awake, Shippo was still asleep, Miroku was outside the cave, waiting for Sango...

"Sango, I know you are worried about your mentor, but if he dies I could always take his place..." Miroku said with a lighthearted laugh. As he tried to fondle her behind... all he felt was a very large arm... and No-Ru-Kai was still in the cave...
He now heard a loud hiss... To which No-Ru-Kai jumped up and approached. Miroku and Sango moved out of the way...

"Sekt-Su-Kas...Dedachvin krek"

The nearly invisible form of Sekt-Su-Kas became easy to see. He looked different from No-Ru-Kai, as his dreadlocks were not nearly as long, his face was not covered by visor, so it was easy to see his expression was very serious, and solemn.

"No-Ru-kai, Kainde Thwei... Masthwei..."

No-Ru-Kai chuckled at the nickname someone had apparently given him long ago... Kainde Thwei, "Hard Blood,"
No-Ru-Kai was ready...
"Fare thee well, Sango..." He said as he followed Sekt-Su-Kas to the flat where hours before, he had faced Inuyasha...

The Party watched in awe... this battle was going to be intense...

No-Ru-Kai stood straight, Sekt-Su-Kas began to flex his entire chest, though it was different then showing muscle, he was clearly preparing for something...
No-Ru-Kai pulled his spear at the ready, as Sekt-Su-Kas roared louder then Sango or the others had ever heard...
Sekt-Su-Kasextended his wrist blades as his roar seemed to get more frenzied, and as soon as he stoped, began running towards No-Ru-Kai with more speed then they had seen with No-Ru-Kai, he was almost faster then their eyes could keep up with. Their weapons met.

No-Ru-Kai tried valiantly to overwhelm his opponents defense with multiple hits from his spear, only to be blocked...
As Sekt-Su-Kas blocked with his blades he began punching No-Ru-Kai in the gut, with enough force to shatter stone.
No-Ru-Kai jumped back pulling the ring from his belt and threw it after extending the blades, Sekt-Su-Kas did a front flip as he inpaled the device with his wrist blades, thus destroying it.

Sekt-Su-Kas knocked No-Ru-Kai's spear from his hand and sliced his chest releasing very much glowing green blood, but still not a fatal wound, to shallow to do too much damage.
No-Ru-Kai extended his wristblades and began to drive towards the head of Sekt-Su-Kas... he missed...
Sekt-Su-Kas pushed the arm out of the way, and grabbed the head of No-Ru-Kai and smashed his head into his, forehead-to-forehead, it made a very loud dull crack sound, a sound that pained Sango to hear...
Sekt-Su-kas Roared as he began to continue slamming his head into that of No-Ru-Kai's... No-Ru-Kai looked like he was going to be knocked out cold...
But before he could, Sekt-Su-Kas aimed something on his shoulder at No-Ru-Kai, only Kagome had a vague idea of what it was, "It looks like a gun..."
She was confirmed when Sekt-Su-Kas shot No-ru-kai Apparently through the chest, ending the challenge...

"No-Ru-Kai!" Sango exclaimed as she ran to her ailing master, Sekt-Su-Kas had a strange look on his face, and helped them carry No-Ru-Kai into the cave, blood pouring from the old one's wounds,When they laid No-Ru-Kai down, Sekt-Su-kas began to look through a screen all around, making sure he was not being monitered... He then pulled out an oval shaped object and pushed a button, thus revealing a medical kit, He began to force the wounds closed with many metal clamps that looked like they would hurt something fierce.
He then prepped a hypodermic needle and forced into his chest, whereupon No-Ru-Kai woke up roaring and screaming in Pain, and finally calmed down...
"Sango was beyond confused, as Sekt-Su-Kas was supposed to kill No-Ru-Kai, but apparently, this was not the case."

"I have been in communication with No-Ru-Kai for years..." Sekt-Su-Kas said to Sango...

"He told me of what he was doing here, and how much he enjoyed simply being a Hunter and a teacher, he told me of you, and your kin. I decided to let him stay here, but I had to make the clan members think he was dead, otherwise they would keep challenging him until he would die."

Sango was shocked, such an act could result in losing one's status, he was taking quite a risk...

"He was like a father to me as well, Sango. And like a Son, I wanted him to be able to persue his own interests, only now it will be uninterrupted."

Sango bowed her head before the clan leader, Sekt-Su-Kas, he bowed his head back, his eyes now covered by visor, he left the cave, and a blast was heard, signalling he was the leaving the world.

After No-Ru-Kai was better able to move, Sango and the others left, On their way to find Naraku, "...And when they did..." Sango thought... "...Naraku would become the hunted..."
