I am sure you have heard this and if you didn't you might here it somewhere else. But I was on a website that said that the new Sailor moon show PGSM was like power rangers. If you ever watched PGSM you could tell your opinion. They say that PGSM is stupid because of the way they fought the youma and their attacks and transformations. Also, they thought that the special effects are to power ranger like.
What I think: PGSM is not like power rangers. It is a live action show which makes it like power rangers probably. What do you expect. They cannot make it perfect. Some of the youma may remind you of Power Rangers but that doesn't mean it is like power rangers. I never really watched power rangers except for when I was younger. PGSM is a neat show to watch that shows you a normal life a teenage girl with a mix of battling evil. The effects may seem cheesy at first but then they kind of are pretty cool. The transformations were neat in my opinion. The fighting, at first, was kind of dumb because they acted like they were dying when they got hit with the youma attacks though but then you just kind of ignored it and went on with the show. The effects are way better than that Power Rangers show and is way more interesting. I may have more to add but this is all I gave to say now.
What do you think?

Hmmz, well, it's quite understandable why pplz (especially american pplz, no offense) say that PGSM is like Power Rangers. It looks the same. That's the big reason. Just because the youma remind them of the enemies in Power Rangers, or just because the acting of the characters resembles that of the Power Rangers, pplz say it's like Power Rangers.
I wish to counter this. PGSM != Power Rangers. In fact, PGSM >> Power Rangers. Why? As Hawk would say it, let's dig a little deeper than what we see.
I'd like to point out that if PGSM was to be like Power Rangers, it'd be boring, the episodes would be VERY similar to each other, there would be no storyline and there'd be endless successors to the series, each more boring and repetitive than the former. Which brings me to my point: PGSM is not boring. It has a strong storyline, the characters are built up well during this storyline, we get to grow attached to the senshi, we watch them gain their powers and become friends, we see a lot of diverse things happen (such as Sailor Mercury being turned into Dark Mercury). Next to that, PGSM is funny, it has hilarious moments that lighten up the storyline a bit (considering the fact that it's made for teens, the storyline is pretty heavy, lot of emo). Also, the Power Rangers always have those corny endings of each episode. I've never seen one corny ending in any PGSM episode, some were cliffhangers, others were good endings to shut down a chapter.
I've never felt I've grown attached to any of the Power Rangers, no matter how much I watched it. Of course, I did grow attached to them to an extent, but in comparison to PGSM, it's insignificant.

The only ways that they are the same is they are both sentai, and they both have a Monster of the day setup. . . pf course that usually goes hand in hand with sentai shows. . .
