I remember from the R series, that Sailor Pluto was bound to guard the Time-Space Door. So how come she was able to fight with the senshi during the S series?
If the answer is "she was needed by the senshi"...well then, who's guarding the Time-Space Door now?
(This is anime exclusive btw because the manga explains it with her death in R, and her reincarnation in S)

Well... hang on to your hats cause I have a theory and it may be hard to follow so I'll try to slow it down for everyone. Sailor Pluto is the Guardian of the time portal and as such in a certian point of view controls time. Now she knows everything that has happened and everything that is going to happen. When she accepted her job as guardian of time she promised to protect the purity of the timeline and not to interfere no matter how much it pained her to do so. A good example is that fact that she did not fight in the first Negeverse war against the Silver Millenium, she already knew who would win and knew that she was not to be involved. However this situation is deferent. In the Sailor Moon S series she has no choice but to be there, her job demands it. Remember she has two tasks, 1 not to interfere with time, 2 to help retain the purity of time and to not allow it to be messed up in any way. History, or in this case future history recorded that Sailor Moon discovered the Holy Grail that night in the Cathederal. However for the Holy Grail to even appear the three Heart Crystals needed to be in the same place at the same time. So her own laws MANDATED that she be there at that spicific time and place in order to allow for the apearence of the Grail. As for why she remained however we now go into the relm of speculation. Setsuna bended her own rules I believe for her own purposes. Understand that she wanted to help Sailor Moon with a passion. Setsuna had a 10,000 year guilt trip to work off and she wanted to do somthing to assuage her feels of guilt at watching her kingdom burn Millennia ago. As such she continued to help out claiming that she was working to perserve the purity of the timeline. However when she stopped time above the campus to save the lives of Haruka and Michiru she used her powers for personal gain and corrupted the timeline to save her friends. As she herself stated she had broken the rules and could no longer remain in this timeline. I hope this helped you all instead of simply confusing you. I think there's an extra task for her. As an Outer Senshi, isn't she supposed to fend off threats from outside the solar system (Pharao 90)?

I thought the outers keep enemies from out side the soloar system from coming in until what happened on the moon and they were all rebron but Pluto waws at the time gate watching all this. I know in the R season that she appers 1st in Luna P when Chibi-Usa having that nightmare and help the senshi get into her dream. And in S season she appers when they find theall 3 tailsman and then the grail show up.

2nd...
Sailor Pluto -- Guardian of time
1st theory:
When she came in the S series and Stars series.. since she knows time.. she probably knew the time gate would not be interfered if her presence is there or not.. so she went to help the other Senshi.
2nd theory:
Since Pluto was not seen very much even in S and Stars.. when she was not present, maybe she was guarding the Time Gate... without anyone saying anything. Can she transport herself quickly? Who knows?
