I've read quite a few Sailor Jupiter profiles that claim she is afraid of flying in an airplane, because her parents died in a plane crash.
In the anime, in Episode #188, the senshi are on a plane and she isn't scared.
What's up with that?

I'll watch 188 and tell you what I think. On a sidenote, I don't think I've seen that many profiles of Makoto that state she's afraid of flying ...

She rode in the plane because she wanted to see the Three Lights. ;D But she has some kind of fear of planes since both her parents died in a plane crash.

Okay ... I saw the episode and it kind of makes sense to me. Where does it say that Makoto has a fear for planes? Mamoru doesn't have a fear for cars, even though his parents died in a car crash.

Too bad Naoko didn't like Stars, because I loved it.
Anyways, of course Makoto would have discovered there are things scarier than airplanes, but sometimes people have phobias that just won't go away.
So the anime did screw up, I suppose.

*raises hand* IIRC there is a scene in the "Mako-chan's Depression" manga special where Makoto hears an airline commercial on TV and freaks out and jumps behind a curtain. Then she explains that she hates the sound of planes because her parents were killed in a plane crash. I don't know if it's in the anime though.
