Hi everyone!
I recently sent a fan fiction to a web site to submit. Their response was I still needed correction but they asked what a "Lemures" was. They thought I was getting after lemurs (the little monkey like creature) I've head a lot of people say Lemures but on the DVD they're called Remless.
Which is right Lemures or Remless?
The Lemures Pooko-chan or the Remless Pooko-chan?

Um...I believe Remless refers to the monster of the day for the Amazon Trio...or maybe to the anime SuperS monsters. EITHER way, the Remless word only appears in the anime and your lovely Pooko-chan is a Remless.
Lemures look like little black spikey monsters in the manga. I THINK Lemures are the monsters for the Amazon Quartet...but agh I cant remember.

"Lemures" refers to an actual type of spirit, specifically ghosts of ancient Rome. However, the Japanese pronunciation, "remuresu", led some translators to believe that the monsters were "Remless", due to the association with dreams. I think this is used both in the Tokyopop manga and the ADV anime. Understandable mistake really, since presumably not all translators are experts on Roman mythology.
Remless can be understandable as REMless as REM is Rapid Eye Movement. The stage of your sleep when you dream. Since the Dead Moon were removing Dream Mirrors from people, you can see how the association might arise.

Thanks...I'm still not positive on what I should call them. The most common thing I've seen them called is "Lemures" so maybe I should still to that.
And yes *My* Pooko-chan is lovely.

There is the fact that "Lemures" is a widely-accepted word while "Remless" is not.
"Lemures" is a word itself, but "Remless" had to be created from "REM" and "less." For that reason, the "Lemures" explanation has fewer terms in it, so it is more parsimonious.

I've never heard of either of these terms, but since (my version of) the sub shows it as remless, that'll do for me.

I dont know which term is more appropriate either, so you'll have to figure it out yourself, I appologize if I've offended you.
