Hey all! I don't know about you people but a glaive doesn't exactly summon up the image of death and destruction to me. What do you all think would be a better weapon for Hotaru? I personally think that she should have used a greataxe.

That would work. Although an axe would give her the executioner look. Nice pic of a scythe btw.

I'd say a Druid's staff, that was what Takeuchi-san originally drew her with, and it looked pretty cool... ...but everyone else has great ideas.

I think the glaive fits her nicely. Whenever I see something with a particular shape resembling her glaive's shape somewhat, I have to think about her.

A glaive is well put, she is not just the senshi of death but of rebirth as well and as such a weapon that makes her look all dark is not suitable

The glaive doesn't resemble or represent anything, which makes Sailor Saturn the Senshi of Death and Rebirth. Give her a scythe, and she's instantly compared to the Grim Reaper 'n stuff (or w/e his name is).

HELL NO! The glaive fits her like it was made for her (and basically it is). Nice piccy btw, apart from some details, it's pretty smooth.

HELL NO! The glaive fits her like it was made for her (and basically it is). Nice piccy btw, apart from some details, it's pretty smooth. Actually, Sailor Saturn has been called the chinmoku no senshi, which means "soldier of silence," in the Materials Collection. Her most common epithet is hametsu to tanj no senshi which means "soldier of ruin and birth." Other characters refer to her as the horobi no senshi and the hametsu no senshi which both mean "soldier of destruction." The Japanese word hametsu can mean both "ruin" or "destruction." Never in the anime or manga is she called the shi to saisei no senshi which means "soldier of death and rebirth," but her powers suggest the ideas of death as the result of ruin. Incidentally, in the Infinite cycle of the manga, Sailor Saturn makes it clear that she, herself, will not be the one who restores the devastated world. When She says "Along with death, there is always hope and rebirth. You will cause that, Super Sailor Moon." She brought down the Silence Glaive to end the world, but it is Super Sailor Moon's job to bring the world back to life. The only time that Sailor Saturn's powers suggests the concept of "rebirth" is when she performs Death Reborn Revolution to attack Master Pharaoh 90. The Kanji associated with the words written in Japanese mean "death world revolution" or "death world change." The word in question is, of course, "reborn" which is the adjective form of the word "rebirth." Contrary to popular belief, this maneuver doesn't actually bring ruin to the world in the manga storyline. Sailor Uranus and her comrades explicitly state that the world doesn't end until Sailor Saturn has "brought down her Silence Glaive." The point is that, according to the anime and manga, Sailor Saturn's powers mainly have to do with silence and destruction. On the other hand, Sailor Saturn's Silence Glaive is often referred to as the chinmoku no kama which means "scythe of silence."

On the other hand, Sailor Saturn's Silence Glaive is often referred to as the chinmoku no kama which means "scythe of silence." Someone did their homework. I'd like to point out that there's more to it than just death and silence. As discussed elsewhere, Sailor Saturn has a very strong sense of duty. She does what needs to be done, and if that means killing/'silencing' someone, then so be it. But this does not mean the end. As quoted, 'Along with death, there is always hope and rebirth'. This line is particularly important, in association with 'death world change'. The concept is rather simple. By killing someone, the world changes, especially powerful characters. To give an example, Queen Beryl was killed by Sailor Moon (I will skip the discussion over whether she truly was Sailor Moon, or Princess Serenity). This death changed the world, for if Queen Beryl was not killed, she would have plunged the world into darkness. The 'world change' is that it was saved from said fate. Therefor, hope and rebirth are (mostly) rightfully associated with death. This is applicable to all Sailor Senshi, including Sailor Saturn.

I dunno much about Saturn really cause she's only in one of the sailor Moon video games (Snes:Another Story) My theory why she lives is because of Chibi-Usa 's power(one she used in her father's lab)when Hotaru first met her&became princess 9
