Love 'em or hate 'em, you gotta admit: Tuxedo Kamen makes some horrendously sappy speeches. So I pose the question to the forum: what do you think is the cheeiest Tux speech of all time?
Eventually I'm going to try and compile a top 10 (or maybe top 20) list from this, so if anyone wants to help it would be great!
Personally, I nominate his appearance in the S movie. Tuxedo Kamen shows up dressed as Santa Claus, complete with inflatable sleigh and reindeer, throws a rose, and then announces "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" in classic anime Engrish. He then leaves us with this philosophical gem: "snow that bleaches the world white is like lovers that meet in winter!" I about died.
PS. Please, this is not intended to start a flame war or bashing fest. I love Mamoru just as much as the next fangirl ^_^ This thread is just for fun.

I'm a guy, and I don't hate Tuxedo Mask. I really like him. He's actually pretty bad ass as well!

I never said I hated him. ^_^ I never even said I hated his speeches. If I hated them I wouldn't be doing a top 10 list of them. I just think they're cheesy.

"snow that bleaches the world white is like lovers that meet in winter!" That doesn't even make sense!

"snow that bleaches the world white is like lovers that meet in winter!" That doesn't even make sense! Yeah, it does, it means that they are together. Like snow in the world and lovers in winter.

"snow that bleaches the world white is like lovers that meet in winter!" I don't see how 'snow that bleaches the world white' would have anything to do with 'lovers that meet in winter', other than being stepped on by said lovers.

I don't see how 'snow that bleaches the world white' would have anything to do with 'lovers that meet in winter', other than being stepped on by said lovers. Its just a comparison. Snow that bleaches the world white and lovers in winter, both separatly they mean that they are together, snow that bleaches the world white goes together and lovers in winter are together, they go together, so then its a comparison. Comparing snow that bleaches the world white and compares it to lovers in winter together.

That's what I don't understand.

Des, if you answer his question with: "Snows lays on the ground, so it's together.", I'll choke.

I just think it's Tuxedo Kamen trying to be "romantic/poetic", but what he says has probably been lost in translation - maybe it makes more sense in the original Japanese version, but the English version is what's making it confusing?
