It would be better if they were lesbian lovers and cousins in both versions. THEY'RE NOT COUSINS DAMNIT!!! Snap out of that evil dub illusion and see the truth! They're NOT cousins, they're lesbians!

Maybe you need professional help? What kind of sick remark is that? Be aware that there's at least one GMod out there keeping an eye on you now.

I did not promote it. I was talking about cartoon incest not real incest. It's not the fact that it's not real incest that's the point. Do you know why DiC made them cousins instead of lesbians, even though they're just cartoons? Once you find that out, come back 'n apologize.

Really, what kind of a question is this? Of course they're a great couple! And they're in love with each other, so they really do have a relationship!

Usagi and Mamoru love each other a lot, and would easily die for each other, so I guess they're a good couple. Usagi/Seiya? Isn't Seiya's true form that of Sailor Star Fighter, a female? That wouldn't work, being that Usagi is straight.

Sorry, but I have to say this on principle. Gay marriage is also not legalized in some US states, yet people promote that. I thought the whole problem with incest (religious/moral standards aside) is that it causes a buildup of lethal recessives and mutations. From a biological standpoint... two women aren't going to have a child anyway, so why does it matter? I'm not trying to be confrontational, I honestly want to know why people think one is wrong and the other is okay.
Back on topic... leaving the whole Usagi is/is not a lesbian debate, I think the show and manga made it pretty clear that she loves Mamoru, not Seiya, regardless of whom fans think she should be with. Usagi didn't show any serious romantic interest in Seiya even when "he" was a guy. The writers placed them in romantic or suggestive situations, yes, but Usagi herself always shyed away from them. You could run through a long checklist of reasons that Mamoru is better than Seiya, but it wouldn't change that she chose Mamoru (and Seiya left) in the end. Usagi has a choice, doesn't she?

I thought the whole problem with incest (religious/moral standards aside) is that it causes a buildup of lethal recessives and mutations. From a biological standpoint... two women aren't going to have a child anyway, so why does it matter? I'm not trying to be confrontational, I honestly want to know why people think one is wrong and the other is okay. There is a difference between committing an illegal deed and being denied the connection that marriage brings. Besides that, in our western culture, incest is repulsive on a global basis, where homosexuality is accepted by most countries and quite a few states (I'm not keeping score). There is no penalty for being gay, as it is no crime. Those states that oppose homosexuality and equal rights thereof are heavily influenced by a mindset that worked 1500 years ago, but is in serious need of an update in today's society (and I consider the pope reconsidering allowing the use of condoms, for example, a step in the right direction). I guess that's true. But like I said before, the fact that Usagi completely misunderstands Seiya and still goes with him should count for something. And no, she does not have a choice, as Seiya is bound to Kinmoku and was going to have to leave Earth anyway, should they survive Galaxia's ordeal.

You could also argue that the "incest is repulsive" mindset is based on outdated traditions. I wouldn't agree on a personal basis, but I still don't think it's fair to yell at someone for mentioning it when you're free to support relationships that other people might find offensive. If you really want a devil's-advocate view, go here: www.punkerslut.com/articles/modernsexual.html Very long essay on why incest should be legal. (And pedophilia and bestiality and legalized prostitution, for that matter.) I don't agree with a word this guy is saying, but if you're really going for "equal rights for all" that's about as free as it gets. Makes me realize how conservative I really am... What I meant by saying that Usagi has a choice is that if she really loved Seiya, she would have stayed with her while she was on Earth. She wouldn't have pulled away when Seiya tried to kiss her. I don't think the disco episode proves anything either. Usagi was clearly nervous, but it would be kind of rude of her to refuse to go with Seiya and accuse her of trying to do something when she didn't really have any proof of Seiya's intentions (because, well... there weren't any.) Besides, even while she's thinking that, doesn't she also think "oh no, I have my beloved Mamo-chan"?
