I just found out two weeks ago that the Wachowski Brothers are gonna be directing the live action Speed Racer movie that's in production. As you may or may not know, Vince Vaughn is slated to play "Racer X", and I believe he is also co-producing it if I'm not mistaken. I don't know who the rest of the cast is, but here's some ideas I have partially:
Sparky:Jason Lee Inspector Detector:Michael McKean Cruncher Block (dunno if he's the villian in the movie):Al Pacino

Hmmz, there's somethin I've never heard of. Google told me it was a cartoon, which generally don't interest me.

Omigosh, they're making it a live action movie? Who'll play Speed?! He needs to have dark hair and blue eyes, hehe! I guess they'd probably CG Chim-chim or will they get a real monkey for him?

Meh, I don't trust anything the Wachowski's touch. After the Matrix they should have been stripped of their status as directors.

Eew they made the Matrix? This'll surely suck very big things then Hehe this is weird - no one else (apart from fellow Aussies) will know who the feck I'm talking about, but I always thought it'd be funny if ever a Speed Racer movie was made, that Australian race car driver Craig Lowndes should play Speed. He has a weird look about him anyway, and hey he can already drive a race car so he could do his own stunt work

Actually, I'm thinking of Elijah Wood as Speed.

Elijah Wood as Speed racer? Wow... that is not a good fit at all. He always seems so nervous, in everything I have seen him in he seemed nervous as hell (ESPECIALLY as the little hobbit in Lord of the Rings) If I had to pick someone for speed racer... well I cannot think of one since it has been about 15 years since the last time I saw an episode ^^;

Erk no... can't stand Elijah Wood, he freaks me out with that stare! Would they make it as bad as the dubbed version? "Ah hah!" and all that weirdness? They'd have to keep that funky theme song, "Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer, he's a demon on wheels!" It's so bad but so good

Oh yeah, they need to get Danny Elfman to do the film score. They better not give it some bullshit techno-ish score or something. I've had it up to here with scores like that.

Hehe or John Williams... he's a bit too dramatic though probably I just want the quirkiness of the Anime kept in, that's what made it what it is. It in no way should take itself seriously either.

Yeah, the Anime was so bad it was good XP Although I would have to say that my favorite anime that was so lame and yet fun at the same time was Gigantor XDDDD
Also, I am trying to figure out an anime series to find and watch... Anyone got any suggestions on good anime that aren't depressing as bloody hell? (I am looking at you Full-metal alchemist and Paranoia Agent, most depressing stuff ever)
