Hmmz, well, if that's how you feel, I'd advise you to download Linux (Fedora Core 3 is completely free and n00b-friendly), and try the terminal option (kinda like ms dos prompt in windows, only more powerful). You'll get a blast outta that. huh? if it's like Ms DOS, thats gonna drive me nutts! too complex! constant searching and typing and no mouse to point and click, the whole concept of searching without the help of a mouse went out long ago, and even the DOS introduction for Windows 95 drives me nuts. if it runs like MS DOS but with mouse point and click assist, I might get some ease, but there are factors I dont seem to be reciving. also, I have a broadband connection, so my house pays for internet every month, comcast internet access that is.

You can search from the GUI if you want, no problems there. I'm just sayin that if you want a challenge, go for FC3 (WITH GUI) and try its terminal (which is the MSDOS part of it).

the computer I'm using is a Windows XP, so DOS would cause problems. I cant use DOS on a XP in which XP was designed to work without DOS as DOS and Windows kept acting against eachother and resulted in numerous problems.

Dude, I dunno what kinda crappy XP version you have (probably Home Edition), but I'm on XP Pro (ripped version) and MS DOS prompt works fine for me.

I have a windows 2002 windows XP, and the only way you'd get wndows XP to work is if you used a Windows XP operating system disc on a Millenium edition computer that has Dos already.

My MS DOS is working just fine, and you should NEVER EVER use Windows ME, take it from me.

the point of XP is that you just have to click on icons to get into some of the available software, like the internet, or a text file. the keyboard is basically used for things like typing into forums and writing papers, but the keyboard is still used in many types of games like Unreal Tournament, and Zoo Tycoon 2. ^_^ also, games like flash games prodived by sites such as newgrounds and video game directors cut. ^_^ the keyboard still gets use, just as a controller and text typing interface thinggy... I think I confused myself a bit... oh well. ^_^

First you give me the impression that you want more of a challenge, then you say you want userfriendliness and mouseclicking, rather than typing commands.

I enjoy challenges, but having to type down countless paths and folders, it forces too much memory power(memory power I dont posess mentally), so the whole DOS operation with constant typing is a challenge I must turn down as it would cause incredible migranes. I do enjoy userfriendly devices, and it makes me feel good that userfriendliness is a big assist. no need to type constant paths.
I'll try to make it simple... challenges I'll take: video game related challenges like boss battles, fighting games, difficult AI.
challenges I dont take as they go beyond my capabilities and render me feeling stupid: DOS operations(too difficult, and my memory isnt that good when it comes to software paths).
I hope you undertsnad that there are some things I dont take up because of the overall anxiety, and that when I do get annoyed at a subject, I prefer to drop it, and let off some steam.
