then we agree, the dubbers batched their chances at success by picking the same wrong path in dubbing.

I agree with y'all. The only thing "Setsuna" and "Trista" have in common, is that there's a "t", an "r" and an "a" in both names. Really messed up!

I vote for the following.
the removal of gun ban laws. the removal of the FCC. the removal of MOST forms of censorship(only prohibit male homosexuality) the removal of the USA governments corrupted ways completely.
and most of all...
FAN DUBS WITH THE CORRECT JAPANESE NAMES AND DIOLOUGE TRANSLATED TO ENGLISH!!
enough G.W.Bush bashing for now. ^__^

The only reason my the translators changed the names is so the names wouldn't seem unfamiliar to the younger audience. Of cruse if Sailor Moon was brought over a little later they probably wouldn't have changed the names and made so many cuts in the show. Well, anyway what's in a name? Setsuna is still cool if you call her by her dub name or original name.

There was the whole "there is nothing outside of the united states thing that 4Kids is doing to TokyoMewMew as well (They're making it Hollywood Mew Mew. )

I like the name Setsuna better than Trista, but I like Trista better than Susan. Trista's more unique. I don't know how they came up with Trista either.

Setsuna is actually my favourite senshi citizen names! I think it's gorgeous. I used to have an Indian friend named Sunsita and the name Setsuna reminds me of her ^_^

According to executive producer Janice Sonski, the final dub name chosen for Pluto, Trista, was chosen on account of the meaning of the name Setsuna. Setsuna can mean moment, but can also be a derivative of 'setsunai' meaning sadness. In the same vein, Trista, which derives from Latin's triste, also means sadness. An early dub by DiC may have rendered her name as Susanna. The packaging of Irwin dolls released in Canada in 1998 called Setsuna by the name Celia.
