It's not a problem, I'm glad to help, just watch out for it in the future.

Genetics? Didn't Creshosk do that hugeee (and very informed) post on why it's logical for Chibi-Usa to have pink hair from blonde/black hair parents? Usually blue and purple haired people in anime are supposed to have black hair but with a blue tone. (In fact, in real life, some people have brown tone and some have gray tone). Anyway, I thought Ami has black hair with blue tone. Much like Rei has black hair with purple tone. Oh well. Like...

It looks like her hair is genuine, not dyed, and that would mean blue hair is in her genes. And since we've never seen either of her parents (they're only mentioned)quote] Actually, Zyppora, THat can be argued. IF you watch the ending to the sailor moon SuperS movie you'll see that Ami's mom has black hair. Oh yeah, by the way, THere are people waho have such a dark shade of black hair that It actually looks more like royal blue.

Well, you're right on one part: we get to see Ami-chan's mother at the end of the SuperS movie, but after looking into it, it looks to me that she has dark brown hair, rather than black.

HEY IT'S A TOTAL VALID THEORY Negative. The song 'Blue' by Eiffel 65 was released in 1999. Sailor Moon was an anime back in 1992. In order for your theory to be true Naoko Takeuchi would have to have been able to see into the future to even know about the song. Let us take for example Chibiusa, she has pink hair. Geneticly she should either have Black (Mamoru/Usagi's Dad) Blonde (Usagi) Blue (Usagi's Mom) or that weird Silvery Color (Queen Serenity). I guess if Mamoru's Mom or dad had Pink hair it could work....however it reamins unlikly. Negative. Genetics are alot more complicated than simply haveing the same hair color as one of your ancestors. As there are also the recessive genes(like blonde hair) to be taken into account and partial dominents (blending genes) like that of red hair. In anime they simply have more types of genes. As they have a wider hair color range. So if as I said in the explination of Chibiusa's hair if Mamoru was carring the partial dominant of the pink haired gene, then his hair would try to mix with Pink. . being black is a domionant hair color it would take over and totally subdue the pink hair. Of course if he passed on the pink haired gene to his offspring and the mother passed on the blonde the two would merge into a light pink color as it did in chibiusa. Not its possible for Ami's father or even her mother to have had a recessive gene that when combined with whatever her other parent gave her would yeild the blue-green hair that she has. But neither of them have to show this if either has a dominent gene that did not get passed on.

it is sarcasm for the sake of conversation. You of all people should be able to recognize this. ;D But it makes for good conversation. Debates galore. Creshosk, maybe we should study the series some more and define a the 'gene pool' for Sailor Moon. Like, what hair colors are dominant, semi-dominant, recessive (is that the right word?), etc.

Don't have hair.

Let's just say that Ami's hair is blue because it's artistic..
I mean SOMEONE had to have blue hair. While Michiru's hair is kind of blue it's more of a bluish green, and I'm sure Naoko didn't want ALL OF THE SENSHI to have blonde hair.
Though that would be interesting......

I think her hair is blue just because anime cartoonists like to make characters with odd coloured hair.
It's just a cartoon, they don't have to have anything to do with genetics, just whatever fits the character ^_^
