Ami is very smart, but if she really had an IQ of 300, she wouldn't need to study as much as she does. Besides, no one has an IQ that high, it's impossible. I think the Outer Senshi are just as smart as her anyway. Haruka and Michiru got into Mugen Academy, after all.

You're saying Ami's IQ being 300 is impossible. On what is this based? Where do you place the 'maximum' in IQ, and where did Naoko Takeuchi (or Japan in general) when she wrote it? Different scales for different numbers here.
Also, the Outer Senshi got into Mugen Academy because they were aware of the threat inside. Mugen Academy is an academy that you only get into from the first class up. It's explained in the manga ( iirc ), that only internal students can make it to higher classes in Mugen. Haruka and Michiru being there could mean three things: - They snuck in. - They used their fame to get in. - They've been in since their first class.
I find the first possibility the most likely one.

In the anime Setsuna said that they enrolled at Mugen to investigate the suspicious things thats been happening there... as if they just walked in and got registered for school.

The highest IQ ever was 228. And please do take into consideration that Ami spends so much time studying! If she had an IQ of 300, she'd probably remember everything she learned and not need to study. As for Haruka and Michiru sneaking in, maybe or maybe not. But they both seem very intelligent and multi-talented. There is an episode called: 'Usagi's Idol! The Graceful Genius Michiru' That was #93, I believe.

That's a Dub episode name. I'm pretty sure the name was different in the original. And we hear school girls say that Ami's IQ is 300. How credible is that for a source? They're gossipers. Lastly, again, 228 on a scale of what? And 300 on a scale of what? They may have different ways to determine someone's IQ.

That's not a dub episode name. The translation is 'Usagi's Idol! Graceful Genius Michiru'. The dubbers just added the word 'The' in front of 'Graceful.' Episode #93.

Darnit, you're right. I thought it was a dub because it sounded too short to be original

I did a little research. According to the Guiness Book of World Records, the highest IQ ever measured was 228, the IQ of Marliyn vos Savant. However, since then, scholarly people have thought it to be lower than that. Some Christians think Jesus Christ had an IQ of at least 300. How they decided that I have no idea. I'm wondering: Did Naoko say Ami had an IQ of 300? Do they measure it differently in Japan? Or was Naoko taking a shot in the dark? I think the latter is likely.

Lol, the Jesus having 300 thing just made me think that christians don't even make it up to 30. Anywayz, I think Naoko just put 300 because it sounds high. Same way Japanese pplz say 8 million when they mean the concept of infinity, or unlimited.

Here's some stats: 99.9% of people have an IQ between 55 to 145.

Here's some stats: 99.9% of people have an IQ between 55 to 145. Oh yeah? Well 74.8% of statistics are made up ...including that one. I think we should take three things into consideration here. 1) Ami's IQ is only mentioned in a rumor, and therefore may not be accurate, 2) IQ tests are not always a perfect measure of how intelligent someone is, only how good of a test-taker they are, and 3) it's a manga. A manga in which color-coordinated princesses run around doing kung fu in high heels and using their sparkly magic to beat up demons. I don't think we should be expecting too much realism here. Anyway, I think Ami is smart in a different way than Michiru. Michiru strikes me as more of the artistic, good-at-everything sort, while Ami is more of a Mensa-card-holder sort. ("I'm smarter than you and I've got the card to prove it.") Off topic... forgive me but I'm slightly miffed at your comments about my faith, Zyppora-san. If I said something like that about homosexuals or women or black people, you'd probably be mad and call me a bigot. Why is it okay to mock people for their religion but not for their race/gender/other beliefs?

Here's some stats: 99.9% of people have an IQ between 55 to 145. Oh yeah? Well 74.8% of statistics are made up ...including that one. Usually statistics are correct, but WIIIIDE open for interpretation and speculation. But yea, who's counting. Amen. Anyway, I think Ami is smart in a different way than Michiru. Michiru strikes me as more of the artistic, good-at-everything sort, while Ami is more of a Mensa-card-holder sort. ("I'm smarter than you and I've got the card to prove it.") Amen again. Off topic... forgive me but I'm slightly miffed at your comments about my faith, Zyppora-san. If I said something like that about homosexuals or women or black people, you'd probably be mad and call me a bigot. Why is it okay to mock people for their religion but not for their race/gender/other beliefs? First, I wouldn't call you a bigot for the simple fact that I don't know what it means and even though I've seen it several times so far, I never bothered to look it up and find out. Other than that, the difference between race/gender/sexual preference and religion is that religion is a choice. Yes, that's an oversimplification, as you usually grow up with it, but it's not something that you can't change about yourself (and I'd like to consider Michael Jackson a special case here). You're right though, I should have kept from generalizing. Sorriz if I offended you. On the other hand, you're a thinker. Usually well-informed, too. You know I didn't aim that comment at you, or 'your kind of christian'.

Even so. Please dont' judge all Christians by the hyper-conservative minority that publish crazy webpages about how Harry Potter is satanic. You can't make judgements about a whole group based on the statements of one person. I mean, can you imagine if you used the world's most annoying woman as a standard to judge all women? x.x I don't even want to think about it...
And I'd say gender is a choice too, nowadays... -_-;
