I don't think he's ever mentioned in any canon series. There are dozens of fanfics out there if you want to speculate on the subject.

And as far as I've thought about it, I think maybe he died or maybe Naoko-sama forgot to mention him.

Nope, I don't think he was ever mentioned in the series. I've often wondered why myself...

Maybe she does not even have a father. O.o;; What if she magically appeared in Queen Serenity's belly?
Anyway, I don't think Naoko-sama forgot about Usagi's "moon" father," I think she just did not want to mention him because it would effect or even possibly ruin the whole, "mother-daughter identicals," thing. Every generation has the same moon symbol. Anyway... help me out guys!

I mean, Chibi-Usa would have magically appeared as well if that were true. And we all know Mamoru's resources are necessary for Chibi-Usa to exist

Perhaps it's the whole "girl power" thing. Sailor Moon is very girl orientated and maybe they wanted a strong woman at the top. If there was a King Serenity than maybe he would've stolen the spotlight a bit... But I don't know...that's just me thinking too much again^^;

After all, kings do get the spotlights where queens take second place in this society.

Very True. I must agree with Helena.

Yes, that's really true. Even in the Middle Ages * Here I go again with the Middle Ages * there was really no mention of queens. the king was at the top of the feudal system, therefore hogging up the spotlight.

probably a stupid idea, but don't the moon people live for hundreds of years. I heard something about how chibiusa is like 900 years old. AND Princess Serenity fell in love with an earth prince. Humans don't live that long. Maybe Queen serenity had a human husband who got old and died before Usagi grew up. -L
