;D ;D ;D I'm all for it, it would make the board more interesting. Like, members could nominate who they would like to head the clan or something, it would be great. Green Star you're a genius! ;D We could allow different kinds of leadership, like democracy, communism, dictatorship Not trying to start anything here, but yea, I think these are all elements we should consider when starting this (it might become big).

There was a suggestion amongst the GMods and I that we do this in a sort of Harry Potter "Sorting Hat" kind of method, so there are 4 "clans" (Houses) and a quiz will be set up to see who goes where... This didn't seem too popular with a few, but it was with others, so... what do you all think of that? I just think it's more organised than just random people making up their own clans, and it keeps the number limited so the board doesn't become too massive. It's hard to maintain as it is

I'm back now Jeez, LOL! Anyway... you don't contribute much to the actual content of the board, I don't see why I have to run around for you Besides... no one seems to be able to agree on how to run this whole idea... it's all messed up and unorganised and it's irritating me...

Sailor Mercury has a point here. I'd like everyone who supports this idea to think of a model on how to make this work. Be sure to throw in lots of details, but keep it clear so that everyone knows what you're talking about. I'll start off this idea with something that's already discarded, but just to give you guys an example of what you should be doing:
'Free For All' Clan System: The Admin/GMods provide a board in which clans can be made. If someone wants to create a clan, they go there, create a thread with the same title as the clan (s)he's making, and puts up a description of the clan, and the requirements for joining that clan. Optional is the usage of 'clan sigs', a small image members of a clan should put in their signature.
Users that want to join a clan, go to the clan board, browse through the various clans available and pick one. They post a reply in that very thread, in which they apply for a position in the clan. Clans can have different positions under the clan leader, or just 'clan member', it all depends on how the clan leader wants the clan to operate. Given the member meets the requirements, the clan leader (or clan mods or guards) can accept them in the clan.
Plus: - Freedom - Versatility
Minus: - Lots of clans can be made - No official control (admin/mods)

Thank you Zyppora... this is the kind of thing I'm after... ideas Sorry if I seemed a bit off hand before but you have to look at it from my point of view - running a board can be easy or hard, in a way part of that outcome relies on the way the members act or how they contribute...
