Because it detracts from the conversation. In addition, it annoys those who are willing to seriously contribute to the topic at hand, and it gives room to more spam, which is what we're trying to avoid. Last, it makes it harder to find specific information if all quality posts are sided with spam posts.

I don't like spamming because it wastes people's time and it also doesn't help. If people need assistance, they're not gonna get much with a word like interesting, now will they?
