Good luck to everyone who is invloved this time! There is no time limit this time due to the fact that unforceen consequences can mess up our ability to get posts up.

I was hopping to let the moderators, Creshosk, or Zyppora go first. But since no one seems to be making a move I'll go ASAP...feel free to still post ahead of me though.

Rei Hino (ç«é‡Ž レイ Hino Rei) is a Sailor Senshi, one of the main characters in the metaseries known as Sailor Moon. She is known in the English translations as Raye Hino. When transformed, she is Sailor Mars. Rei is usually identifiable by her long dark hair and the grey-red uniform she wears. Unlike the other girls she attends the Thomas Aquinas School For Girls, a private Catholic school. However, she is a practicing Shinto, and in fact is a miko at the Hikawa Shrine (ç«å·ç¥žç¤¾ Hikawa Jinja), where she lives. She has a confident, frank personality but with bouts of self-doubt and brooding, which has labeled her alternatively alluring and rude. Rei is one of the few Senshi to have overt powers not related to her superpowered alterego. Although high school girls working as miko are not too unusual, Rei's psychic powers have caused her to be labeled a weirdo by her classmates. She can use ofuda to seal or dispel evil, and sometimes suffers from vivid dreams. She also practices pyromancy, possibly as part of her shrine duties. Rei lives with her kindly, if lecherous, grandfather (a priest at the shrine). Her mother is dead and her relationship with her rarely-seen politician father is icy. Because of this, she generally dislikes most men, whom she sees as emotionally weak. Rei has nothing resembling romantic pursuits, except in the anime — Mamoru Chiba for a short time, and possibly an individual named YÅ«ichirÅ Kumada, a good-natured vagrant turned co-worker who overtly likes her. Manga Rei is a bit of a snob, though she mainly has little tolerance for stupid or lazy people. She is especially close to Minako Aino, whose wild and silly personality is a polar opposite to her own. Anime Rei's character is altered considerably, compared to the other five girls. She is more 'boy-crazy' like other teenagers, and at times even clingy. She also has new aspirations to be an idol, a businesswoman, or have another 'big time' career. She has an admiring co-worker, although she treats him strictly as a friend. She is closer to Usagi Tsukino than to Minako in this adaptation though at first she doesn't have much tolerance for Usagi's antics. Anime (Dub) Her personality in the English dub is similar to the original anime, although some changes in dialogue (especially her playful arguments) supposedly cast her in a negative light during some important scenes. Rei's given name is changed very slightly to Raye. (In an early DiC promotional tape that advertised Sailor Moon to television stations, Rei was called Dana.) Live Action In Pretty Guardian Sailormoon Rei essentially reprises her manga persona. She is presented as the second leader of the four guardians after Sailor Venus. Her father is a businessman who she has had relationship problems with after the death of her mother. Influenced by Minako??who in this version is a pop idol??she also becomes an idol singer under the name "Mars Reiko", but it is confirmed, by the character herself, that she doesn't like karaoke for a few episodes. Rei inexplicably attracts a large amount of angst, dark, and fetish fan fiction (perhaps due to the failed romances in the anime and her confident, aggressive personality). Her disinterest in and sometimes open dislike of men also puts her in a relatively disproportionate amount of yuri fan fiction. In such stories she is most often paired with Usagi Tsukino. her powers, combinedwith her aggressiveness, makes her possibly more dangerous than Sailor Jupiter As Sailor Mars, Rei's Senshi-specific powers are all fire-based projectile attacks, many with single-target effects. (The planet Mars(ç«æ˜Ÿ kasei) is associated with the element fire in Chinese astrology; like the other Senshi save Venus, the first kanji of her name matches that of her planet.) Her Sailor outfit is red, white, and violet. She also inexplicably wears high heels, which some fans love pointing out teasingly.
The character becomes easier to be understoon when one knows what went into making the character in this case the planet Mars.Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun in the solar system, named after the Roman god of war (the counterpart of the Greek Ares), on account of its blood red color as viewed in the night sky. This feature also earned it the name of "Red Planet". Mars has two small moons, Phobos and Deimos, both small and oddly shaped, possibly captured asteroids. In the manga Phobos and deimos are two of Rei's ravens. The prefix areo- refers to Mars. Its symbol is a stylized representation of the god Mars' shield and spear: a circle with a small arrow pointing out from behind it ♂. Like two of the other inner senshi(Venus and Mercury) she sports a stylized version of this symbol. Hers being a heart on its side with the arrow coming out of what is traditionally the bottom of the heart symbol.
Her name doesn't literally translate as anything. Her name pun however is "Spirit of fire" refering to her miko-hood and her pyromancy skills. If you were to try to translate it literally you would get ç« Fire 野 Feild レイ and then her given name not being in kanji can mean a numerous number of things. Such as ray, command, order, dictation, actor, instance, example, case, precedent, experience, custom, usage, parallel, illustration, cold, cool, expression of gratitude, zero, nought, soul, spirit, departed soul, ghost, companion. It should be noted however that her given name is written in katakana, which is primarily for foreign or borrowed words. So it could be "ray" in another langauge.
Rei's favorite gemstone is the red corundum or ruby. Rubies are red gems, ranging in their shades, although the deep blood-red hue is the most sought after (and the most expensive). It should come as no supprise that its ruling planet is that of Mars, and its elemental association is that of fire.

Well as I had said before I had hopped to wait until the Sailor Mars moderators Sakura Fubuki and Phobesgirl19 had gone before doing this post but as it is taking so long for then to get to work Creshosk and I have decided to begin tonight. Creshosk began his post about 10-15 Minutes before me so I'm not really sure whoes post will pop out first but we shall see! Sailor Mars...Rei these names are merely the brittle shell covering a great human being. Sailor Mars has a unique position on the Sailor Senshi team being the troublemaker and rabble rouser. Constantly on Sailor Moon's nerves try to tramble her last remaining one. She dated Darien just to get one up on Serena and has at several time insinuated that she would be a far better leader than the meatball head. With this kind of description Rei would not be winning any best friend of the year awards...however when you get right down to it, Serena and Rei are best friends Rei is Serena's best friend among all of the Inner Senshi. The real question is how do two people who appear to hate each other wind up as best friends. I guess you'll just have to follow me as I... DIG A LITTLE DEEPER! Raye is constantly being put down yelled about and screamed at on this and many other sites for the way she treats Serena. Her temper her temper, her temper it would take 100 posts to write out everything I've ever read abot someone putting her down for her temper. Have you ever noticed that Raye is only arrogent and a braggart around Serena? Despite what you may think the relationship that they share is not one of hatred but one of love...one of SISTERLY love. If you truly want to understand Raye and the reasons for why she treats Serena the way she does you have to stop thinking of them as either friends or enemies but start to think of them as two sisters. If you look at them in this respect everything becomes clear, the two of them are merely sisters trying to outdo each other to become the best of the sisterly pair. Raye's dating of Darien for example when she knew that Serena could only barely stand him at the time was simply a way of rubbing something in her face. The constant put downs...the attacking of her weakpoints are not out of malice but stem from a desire to be the best of the pair. This relationship begins to mature as time goes on. In the late episodes of Sailor Moon SuperS and throughout Sailor Stars the infighting, the oneupmanship has dissovled into a caring a trusting relationship; the two would do anything for each other. I think it is very telling when in episode 28 of Sailor Stars it is Raye that discovers from Serena that Darien hasn't been returning any of her letters and tells her not to fall for Seiya just because she's lonely. In my opinion the most telling moment of this sisterly bond is as the Inner Senshi are dieing at the base of Galaxia's throne it is Sailor Mars that Sailor Moon runs to and it is Sailor Mars she holds right to the very end; and it is Sailor Mars who tells her at the end to be brave. Sailor Mars who had berated, teased, poked, pushed, yelled at, and generaly made Serena's life misserable as the leader of the Sailor Senshi... had died for her. It's hard to get more brotherly or sisterly than that. Another one of the reasons that Serena and Raye don't get along very well is Raye's drive and ambition. Raye is a very driven person, once she sets her mind to something it gets done if it is within her ability to do it. A good example of this is in the Sailor Moon R saga when Raye is setting up the school fair and talent show. Now the fair is for everyone but the talent show only has one person on the stage and that would be her. Not you might consider that a little brash but Raye had put emense effort into both the fair and her own preparations for the talent show. The espidoe has several flashbacks showing the true story of how much Raye suffered for her music that she put on stage that night. she deserved the recognition for her hard work and drive and she got it...despite a Yoma showing up. Raye's drive also got her involved in several arguments with Serena in the saga Sailor Moon; these arguments were over Darien and the leadership of the senshi. Both arguments were solved when the Senshi discovered who their Princess really was and also who the Prince was. This kinda made the points of these arguments moot, however when Serena was collapsing into disspare in just the next episode after Darien's capture it is rather telling that it is Sailor Mars who snaps her out of her depression and gets her moving again. The two are an amazing team as long as Raye keeps her ambitions in check, which she does better and better as the Sagas roll on. Sailor Mars is a very powerful Senshi as befits the Senshi named after the Roman god of war. All of her attacks deal with fire and her abilty to channel it better with each upgrade. Sailor Mars' first attack is Mars Fire Ignite. A simple attack that throws a big ball of fire at her enemies, no finese no skill, simply inceneration which suited her dynamic and ambitious self at the time. As her contol over her own emotions would increase so would her control over the element of fire itself increase. Sailor Mars' second attack is Mars Celestial Fire Surround. This attack fires off several triangle shapped Bolts of fire to hit multiple enemies or to multiply hit a single enemy. This attack requires more skill espicaly to hit multiple enemies with it perfect for her current status within the Sailor Senshi team and within the control of her own soul. Sailor Mars' third and final attack is Mars Flame Sniper. This attack is an arrow of pure fire shot from a bow of fire. This attack requires perfect finese and skill to use properly. It delivers a piercing blow of fire over a much smaller target area doing alot more damage over a shorter period of time and disstance. This represents the ultimate mastery over her powers and herself. The scene that represents this best is in the Sailor Stars saga where Sailor Neptune is being help by Yoma in a standard hostage situation. The Yoma says that if Sailor Mars fires she'll hit Sailor Neptune too and kill them both Sailor Neptune doesn't care about this fate and orders her to fire anyway. Sailor Mars appears to hesitate for a second but in fact she is simply lining up her shot. The flame arrow flies and hits dead center between the Yoma's eyes leaving Sailor Neptune completly unharrmed. I hope you enjoyed this post...may the best Person win!

Here's my crappeh post:
Hino Rei. Rei can easily claim the prize for bestlooking senshi. This becomes clear straight from the first moment she's featured in the manga. Usagi actually followed her home because of her beauty. Her straight, long, raven hair not only makes all the boys' hearts beat faster, but at her school, there's also a certain batch of girls who's favorite way of spending the day is being with Rei.
Rei vs. Usagi. Rei seems to always pick on Usagi. On multiple occasions, it seems her and Mamoru are joining sides just to make fun of poor odango-head. But this behaviour is simply caused by her love for Usagi. Of course, we all know the clumsy Usagi that we always see, and it rubs off on Sailor Moon as well. She's nowhere near the warrior of justice that she represents. Rei's constant picking may seem hurtful at first sight, but in fact, it's her way of supporting the blonde through tough times. She sees Usagi try harder, put more effort in what she does when she's scolded for being clumsy and all.
Rei vs. Grandpa. Rei and her grandfather seem to constantly be in dispute. Why? Rei has always lived with her grandfather. She grew up with him being the only relative to take care of her. Why would she want to bicker with the man that brought her up into the fine lady she is? Well, since she has been brought up at a shrine, I'd like to consider the fact that her life hasn't been perfect. Her grandfather, the only one caring for her, has been busy with keep the merchandise going and keeping the place clean, and I think it's safe assume that as soon as Rei hit the years, she was put to work as well to help out at the shrine.
Next, there is the lecherous grandpa. Rei must be quite ticked off by her grandpa scaring away any of her friends with his behaviour. Any cute girl dropping by would have to go through grandpa to get to Rei, customers not excluded. Whenever the four Senshi are over at the shrine, the old man seems so joyful, for obvious reasons. It's pretty easy to understand why Rei would grow tired of this and scold the poor guy for it.
Rei vs. Yuichiro. Now, before we go here, let's state that Rei and Yuichiro love each other. Germans have a saying 'was sich liebt, das neckten sich'. It means 'what you love, you hate' (or somethin among those lines). Yuichiro has no problems whatsoever in expressing how he feels for Rei. However, Rei seems to only be angry with him for no reason whatsoever.
But she does have a reason, the same way she has a reason to always be angry with Usagi-chan or grandpa. She cares about them. It's not like her to display affection, and may be caused by her situation, what with her parents. But she does care about them. Usagi, Yuichiro and grandpa. The first time we see her care, is when grandpa and Yuichiro decide to set up a karate class to attract young girls (this is one of the episodes in Sailor Moon R, not sure which one). It turns out a youma was put in that class and eventually grandpa has to face the youma. But Sailor Mars jumps in and takes the beating for him. If that's not affection, I wonder, what is?
The second time we see her care about Yuichiro. This is when Coan appears at the shrine. Sailor Mars is attacked and Yuichiro jumps in to save her, but what can a normal boy do against someone as powerful as Coan? It turns out, Yuichiro is about to take the beating of his life and a wounded Sailor Mars jumps in to take the attack for him. She later on in this episode even jumps in when the Senshi are about to attack Coan, because she's certain Coan can be turned good.
The third time, we see Rei care about Usagi. This happens in Sailor Moon Stars, in the last episode. Sailor Galaxia had just taken her star seed and she's about to disappear, but she manages to cough out a few more words to Sailor Moon. What is said here:
Mars: You...are...too...sweet...be...strong! Moon: Rei-chan, don't! Moon: We promised to be together until the end! Please don't leave me alone! Mars: Don't... forget... you have... Mamoru Moon: Rei-chan! No....NO!!!!
That's pretty much caring if you ask me.

ok here my post : well lets start off with the friendship with serena, people think she is being mean to her, but she is not and people is called tough love or a sisterly bond that is tough and she trying to make sailor moon stronger as a person and to become a strong leader as well
Raye Hinto a.k.a Sailor Mars- she is the third senshi to be found by luna, second in command in the inner court, her element is fire and her attacks are fire base.
People think her personality is aweful, but is really not. deep down inside of her is a nice person and somtimes thanks to serena she show it when it really count like when rini turn evil she show a softer side to serena and the others as well
well to some people sailor mars is mean, but to me she is my favorite senshi and the most caring of all the senshis, so do not care what you say about her you will never make me change my number 1 senshi Sailor Mars!
well that it i hope it was enough because i am rookie at this so please do not go hard on me ok
