No, it's not a Powerpuff girls DBZ crossover. It's a Powerpuff girls anime. Tokyo international animation fair 2005 (2005.3.31 - 4.3) Toei Co., Ltd. animation, 3 corporations joint plans for a Powerpuff Girls anime. SAM Register (CN:TeenTitans and Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi) Hiromi Seki (Toei Co., Ltd.: Doreimi) ANIPLEX: (Full Metal Alchemest) The mayor. . . Professor Utonium's counter part. Kitazawa Ken. . . The girls have codenames if nothing else. A Yo-yo, a bubble wand(punny), and a Toy Hammer have been added to their arsenal. I'd love to know what just happened here. . heck, I'd love to see this whole thing. Screenshots came from here: ppgcom.gooside.com/ppgz/index.htmlppgcom.gooside.com/ppgz/ppg2.html

part of me is saying the whole planet is getting hopped up on acid, and another part is screaming "thank god" for the appearence upgrade in character design, where they look HUMAN instead of like some delapadated doggy chew doll. I have mixed feelings about this, the more sophisticated look is a very highly welcome change, but the ppg license is a little broken, and the anime came too late in my view(like 8-10 years too late! the series keeps airing reruns!). I hope there is an actual saga based STORY instead of the random encounter-like storyboards, where they fight battles, each baddie has a numbered episode(expect mojojojo to be in episode 1), or a bunch of goons for each baddie(think the ppg movie, but with all the apes being loyal to mojo). it'll be a godsend if EVERY character got a serious look upgrade! I dont know what to think until I see the anime, and now a part of me is saying "may god have mercy on us all, and our souls...

Hey... I love the original PPGs They're so funny and cute... If they did a US dub of the Anime, they could get the original voice actors to do the dub voices, hehe

after seeing that one clip on the website(the quicktime thinggy), I think the series may have some lasting potential... though instead of being overly simplistic, it's like the people who drew Astroboy did this one... oh well, it may not be perfect, but at least the girls grew up much, and the chimp looks more downright ominous.

I'm with Raptor on this, really I don't know what to think, I'll just have to wait until it comes out. It could make a really good anime, but why call it Power Puff Girls Z? Aw well, only time will tell.

I think I understand the pattern! since DBZ was widely popular in the USA, someone was probably thinking to use a slight refrence to the dragonball franchise and use something completely different... but in that case it could probably piss off Akira Toriyama, the creator of DragonBall and DragonBall Z. this could also make Naoko Takeuchi laugh her ass off due to the rivalry between Naoko and Akira.

it was said that Akira didnt like SM because it demonstrated a strong female personality, and he countered that by making an army of DBZ villans who posed like imbiciles, namely the Ginyu Force, and the Spice boys, and later a pun for extra laughs with Gohan as "the great sayaman", and videl as "sayaman 2", "sayagirl" in the dub. jokes and puns etc, all rips on the senshi. of course, Naoko pulled a punch on DBZ by making her sailor animamates wear bracelets like Brolly, and rendering them weak in the presence of chaos. which is true, but also a kick in the scrotum. this is mostly speculation and things I've heard in college.

That's be pretty impressive considering the ginyu force episodes aired long before Sailor Moon started to air. Where did you hear about this rivalry?

This is kinda...sad...XD? Wasn't PPG intended to BE a parody of anime? (and now...its an anime?)
I hope the characters are better (not so stereotypical). The art and character designs look good though.

Wasn't PPG intended to BE a parody of anime? No, it was intended to be a show all on it's own. The superheroes are more of an american based style, and the girl's eyes are based on Margaret Keene's work. The monsters are indeed based on old japanese movies. But there is also influence from other mediums. Like the beetles. HIM (which was supposed to be the devil but due to American network rules and reguulations they couldn't have him be that.) is based off of the Beetles blue meanie. Jay ward is noted for: Rocky & Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right, George of the Jungle, and more. So I imagine the narrator is in that fashion.
