I think the only thing that could moderately be considered a 'successor' to Sailor Moon, would be the PGSM series. Other than that, phat chance we've seen the end of it.

Too bad Stars was never translated in English! And I think if new mangas/anime were made of Sailor Moon they wouldn't be very good because you know how the second movie is never as good as the first? Well I think that's what it would be like :) Just a thought though :O

If there's gonna be a successor to the current Sailor Moon series, then they should NEVER sell their rights. Keep'em yourselves pplz! They're worth millions! (and we want to prevent anything like DiC from happening)

It's sad, but every series has to end. After all, the authors and producers have to move on to other projects. Considering the amount of work Takeuchi-san had to put into Sailor Moon, I'm amazed it continued as long as it did. It must've been exhausting. And the series itself had an ending that was well wrapped up and left a solid continuity. After all, a lot of shows only last 13 or 26 episodes. Sailor Moon ran for 200. Pretty impressive, no?

*nodnod* And of course there's the side stories, and Parallel SM, and PGSM. Plus if the series went on forever, the fanfic and doujin writers would have nothing to add

And SM:AS would be a story arc, rather than an SNES game for me to download and play on an emulator

Who currently has the rights to it?
The kids who grew up with Sailor Moon now have their own money so we could see a comeback,if we are willing to spend money for it like all the 28 year olds who like G.I Joe & Transformers
