In the anime his plane exploded. In the manga he was killed in the airport right in front of Usagi. Oh! Okay.

In the anime his plane exploded. In the manga he was killed in the airport right in front of Usagi. His plane didn't explode in the anime, it was attacked by those fireballs all of the anima-mates use and then his star seed was taken (so basically he does die, kinda). Usagi recognises his star seed in one of the last episodes as Sailor Galaxia shows all of the collected star seeds to her.

I didn't feel like elaboratin further. the point is he died. Which brings me to my next point: As I've stated elsewhere on these forums, I don't think having your star seed taken away kills you in any way. Otherwise, how would you explain everyone's revival in the end? (including the revival of those that fell on other planets throughout the universe, and, most importantly, Sailor Galaxia herself, the 'star seedless one') EDIT: GAH ... why did I state that he DOES die?! Sorry bout that.

Sorry bout that. Well, the senshi have died before(last two episodes of the japanese version of Sailor Moon the doom and gloom girls kill the inner senshi. and the Silver crystal brought them back. Sailor Pluto was killed for stopping time to save Uranus and Neptune. Heck everyone died back during the silver millenium and they came back. So taking away the star seed causes the senshi to collapse and do an anime fade into bubbles of light death.
