lol men..... *rolls her eyes* anyhoo... Makoto wanted to be able to cook so she could be more feminine.... she figured that most men wouldn't like her because she was a tomboy....... And Ami's element is actually Ice, even tho it does start out as water when she summons it. ^^ just thought I would let ya know.... Ohw I think it's not just ice. After all, ice and water are the same. But her very first attack is Shabon Spray. We all know that fog is water in its gaseous form, about to become liquid. Ice is just the solid form of water.

And Ami's element is actually Ice No, Sailor Mercury's element is Water, based on the 5 Asiain elements of Wood, Metal, Fire, Earth and Water. The word for Mercury in Japanese is "suisei" which means litterally "Water star". Mercury - Water - Suisei - Water Star Venus - Beauty/Metal - Kinsei - Metal Star Mars - Fire - kasei - Fire Star Jupiter - Lightning/Wood - Mokusei - Wood Star Other than Venus all of the senshi have a naming convention where they use the name of their planet minus the word sei, in their last name. Venus was created first and has a different name pun. That being the kanji that form her name Minako is in three parts Mi Na Ko, another way to read the kanji Mi is Bi, another way to read the kanji Ko is Su So another way to read her name is "Binasu" Now the Japanese don't have the V sound in their langauge, so they use Bi instead "Binasu" is the way the japanese would pronounce the English word Venus. Saturn - Destruction/Silence - Dosei - Earth Star Uranus - Wind/Sky - Tennousei - Hevean King Star Neptune - The Sea - Kaiousei - Sea King Star Pluto - Time - Meiousei - Dark King Star Now as I've stated elsewhere, Pluto and Saturn don't follow the traditional Element associanting scheme, but they are not mixed up. Jupiter Has elecrtricity as her element to follow the whold Jupiter(the roman god) threw lighting bolts as his weapon thing. She still has "Oak evolution." and "Coconut Cyclone" as two of her attacks. Sailor Venus was created before so doesn't match up with the other senshi too well. She does have the "love me chain" and "wink sword" attacks.

Quite a bit of information there, Cresh. No, Sailor Mercury's element is Water, based on the 5 Asiain elements of Wood, Metal, Fire, Earth and Water. Actually, that's not entirely true. These planet names are correct, but the names are different. For example, the word 'water' can be translated in multiple ways in Japanese. One of them, as described above, is 'sui'. the 'sei' part means that the word is referred to a planet. However, as most of the sub-watchers will know, the word 'mizu' also means water. That's how the name 'Mizuno Ami' is created. It's a pun (yes, Cresh, I've given up, you're right) to make the term 'mizu no ami', which literally means 'friend of water'. Nothing to say about this. As far as I know, this is all true. Interesting fact about the Live Action, is that Aino Minako is a pop idol, and her first song is called 'C'est la Vie'. It's the only French words you'll ever hear throughout the whole Live Action, and it's put in because it's pronounced in the same way as the name 'Sailor V' is in Japanese. They are not mixed up because their names do reflect some of their characteristics. As is clear to see, to the Outers, sans Saturn, the same rule applies as to the Inners. Take the name of the planet, leave out the 'sei' part, and you have the last name of their everyday aliases. Saturn is a different case though. I'm not sure what 'Tomoe' means *scolds self*, but 'Hotaro' means Firefly. Her birthstone is Flourite, which is translated as 'hotarozuishou' (correct me if I'm wrong here). As far as I know, Greek/Roman mythology applies to all of the Inner Senshi: Moon: Selene, goddess of the moon Mercury: Hermes, messenger of the gods Mars: Ares, god of war Jupiter: Zeus, ruler of gods, god of thunder Venus: Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty Saturn: Chronos, father of gods, god of time Uranus: [Uranus is Greek], god of the skies Neptune: Poseidon, god of the seas Pluto: Hades, god of the dead, ruler of the underworld As you can see, the only thing mixed up here is Saturn and Pluto, but I'm sure Takeuchi-sama had her reasons for doing so. Btw, the name Selene links to a page on which is a Greek myth about her and the mortal Endymion.

It's a pun (yes, Cresh, I've given up, you're right) to make the term 'mizu no ami', which literally means 'friend of water'. I should have specified. While Kanji usually only embody one concept they can be read in different ways, as is shown. Ami's name doesn't litterally mean "Friend of water", it's a verbal pun, meaning that when read out loud sounds like the phrase frind of water. Her name written in japanese And the way the phrase mizu no ami would be written if it meant "friend of water" note that "Ami" in this case is katakana, this is beacuse the Japanese word for friend is yuujin. Ami is French for friend. Nothing to say about this. As far as I know, this is all true. Interesting fact about the Live Action, is that Aino Minako is a pop idol, and her first song is called 'C'est la Vie'. It's the only French words you'll ever hear throughout the whole Live Action, and it's put in because it's pronounced in the same way as the name 'Sailor V' is in Japanese. reminds me of another trilingual pun from Digi charat. This is from the French Song "La vie en rose" which when pronouned in Japanese becomes 'Ra bien rosuu". The Character Usada goes by the name "Rabien Rose" and dresses like a rabbit. Hotaruishi is the japanese word for flourite. Which literally means "Firefly stone". Hotaru's name pun is "Firefly sprouting from the Earth." Since her last name has the Kanji for Earth she is the Earth part of the asian elements. I'll address this section in another area, as it gets to be too big . . . Btw, the name Selene links to a page on which is a Greek myth about her and the mortal Endymion. Yeah, I don't know why the dub removed the name Endymion. . . Doing that just led to a rather odd situation: Japanese: Usagi: Mamoru, remember who you are. Prince Endymion: That name means nothing to me, I am Prince Endymion. English: Serena: Darien, remember who you are. Prince Darien: That name means nothing to me, I am Prince Darien.

I mean, who would have thought of such a thing? That's what I was looking for, hotaruishi/hotaruishou/whichever. I smell another BIG discussion This is a rolemodel example of why I think dubbing companies are run by pplz with one-digited IQ's.

;D true that. to all the fighting game fans, never put Mako-chan in a fighting game, examples are Def Jam fight foy NY, Day of Reckoning, and other games where you can possibly make a senshi. you'll always do overkill with her high strength, trust me on this, I know.

She works just fine in some of the SNES fighting games. I mean custonizing her into a fighting oriented game where you can customize your own fighter for personal fighting pleasure. I know with Mako's abilities as a fighter, she can lay a beatdown on ANYONE, I did it in No Mercy for N64, and she whipped @$$ like nobody would beleive. trust me, I gave her moves I knew she could use, like her powerbomb in one of the final fight-like SM titles. and a suplex from an earlier but simmilar SM title. plenty of martial arts moves too. she hits VERY hard, even for her, I cant wait to sick her on D-Mobb in Def Jam fight for Ny. it'll be one of the sweetest fights EVER.

I once found a Sailor Moon skin for the game The Sims. Maybe that should inspire some skilled pplz to make a Sailor Jupiter skin...
