To my knowledge, the original Zoicite was a man, and since Zoicite and Malachite were in love, I assume both of them were indeed gay.

Right Zoisite is male in the jap anime.
Female in the N/A Anime.
Male in the manga
Zoisite's relationship with Kunzite was an ANIME ONLY! Not in the manga, they are close because Zoisite is Kunzite's student!
(I'ts great to have an obsessed best friend)

Hell, I didn't see any kind of student-mentor relationship between the two anywhere in the manga ... your obsessed friend should get their facts straight. Unless of course ... my (evil) dub manga screwed up yet AGAIN.

Hell, I didn't see any kind of student-mentor relationship between the two anywhere in the manga ... Nor did I. Obsession does not mean perfect knowledge mind you. Quite the contrary, someone who is obsessed with something will probably refuse to see the truth about something in the matter of flaws. They tend to overlook such things and regard their obsession as perfect.

IIEEEEE! I'M NOT AN OBESSESD FAN HARUKA!
I don't think there is either, the only picture Haruka has seen of Kunzite and Zoisite is the one where they are looking at the tv screens and Zoisite is sat on the top of the chair. Haruka seems to think that Kunzite is going to touch Zoisite's a**.
don't worry Haruka's a bit dumb in the head!

I think that DiC (the animation company that dubs the north american version of SM) gave Zoisite the sex change because they didn't want people to think that they were inferring that homosexuals are evil. That kind of thing can touch off a real shitstorm here in the U.S. For some reason, it's okay to portray chicks in NON-ANIMATED shows as lesbians (maybe because it's more attractive??) but not for 2 men to be gay. America is not ready for that issue to arise yet. I can remember a show a few years back when they had a homosexual couple kissing & there was a huge spasm about it (ironically, I don't remember the name of the show or anything, lol).
Portraying lesbians or gays in an animated show watched by children is also viewed as bad. See, Americans are homophobes & want to try everything in their power to prevent their children from "coming out of the closet." The dub companies have to change any homosexuality if they want to receive high ratings - homosexuality causes for parents to become upset & therefore, no longer allowing their child(ren) to watch the show, leading to low ratings & cancellation.
Ok, I'm done rambling.

And yet, I receive 4000 spam mails a day, each from the US, and each containing the word 'lesbian' in the title. America's the world's biggest hypocrite.

well, the United States so far embraces homosexuality, but doesnt accept animation for older audiances from other nations, excluding Ghost in the Shell, in which the main female character ran around buck naked, in the nude! and blew a dudes head off in a truely gorey display!
okay, to see things how the examples seem to show...
Zoicite & Kunzite(Malakite) = Gay couple = bad, waste at will!
Haruka & Michiru = Lesbian Couple = GOOD!! keep your girlfriends close, and the lesbians just as close.
it seems to be the examples displayed... also, a nerd can get a girl even if he acts like a dumbass. this is displayed by Naru(Molly) and Umino(Melvin), but it seems that if you're going from Evil to Good, you'll be betrayed and wasted like Nephrite... no fair man! he was cool! he had a phat ride!
