Well, let's talk about the most powerful, and worst dressed, enemy of Sailor Meatba-..er..Moon. She is a powerhouse, that's for sure.
Why she walks around in such a small amount of armour is beyond me. At least she's got the important parts protected.
Although in the manga we do see her in something of a nightgown with her hair down.
Oh mighty knowlageable Starlight known as Yaten. Tell us all of her in the anime. Yaten does know the most on the Starlights series. Hence why I called on her.

DUNNNNNN!! I HAVE BEEN SUMMMONED!!!!!
Sailor Galaxia is pretty close to the depiction in the manga. They are both INCREDIBLY ruthless and unforgiving. I do believe that Galaxia is a bit more harsh in the manga then in the anime though, simply because she doesn't immediately kill off her minions (in one way or another) as quickly in the anime then as in the manga. Of course they had to make it longer for the anime, but because of it, it does make her look more forgiving.
Galaxia is scary. She's uber-powerful, manages to kill off Princess Kakyuu, who is made out to be pretty damn powerful, in the blink of an eye. She kills all the inner senshiin less then a thought. Eternal Sailor Moon struggles ENORMOUSLY with her, the fight between them lasting the longest between any of the other villians (the actual fight fights with the villians themselves only last about one episode, the fight with galaxia herself lasts about three episodes). Galaxia is also really creepy... her laugh is pure monstrousity. Galaxia in the anime is also pretty damn arrogant because she keeps reiterating the fact that she has complete control over Uranus and Neptune when we know deep in our hearts they're just tricking her.
The long hair and the nightgown you see is Galaxia's "good" form, the form that got locked away when she took chaos into her body. Her good form is still around, and in the anime it's taken its place as adorable little Chibi Chibi. The golden Galaxia fuku you see is her good one, and that doesn't change, they broke the cliche when they had her keep it on even though it was her "good" uniform. It only changes in the final flying fight scene between her and sailor moon.
So Galaxia didn't change too much, she expanded her story, made her a little less scary (she's alot scarier in the manga if you ask me, but honestly I'm still much more scared of Sailors Phi and Chi) and she pretty much decimates all the senshi by herself without Phi and Chi's help or without Sailor Heavy Metal Papillion, ALL OF WHICH were taken out of the anime along with Sailors Lethe and Msyemone (f**k you GREEK!!)

Now that the one that was requested to speak has spoken, I feel I can voice my thoughts.
In the manga, Sailor Galaxia rules a horrific empire named the Shadow Galactica (meaning Shadow of the Galaxy or Galactic Shadow). Sailor Galaxia’s empire, in the anime and manga, consists of much of our galaxy. The anime itself does not mention the name Shadow Galactica, but the anime-relevant song named Golden Queen Galaxia does. The actress who sings the song, Mitsuko Horie, also plays the part of Sailor Galaxia in the anime. Naoko Takeuchi herself wrote the song, there is no indication that the song is relevant to the manga continuity. Ms. Takeuchi also wrote the lyrics for the song Route Venus, which only appears in the anime. So a song can relate to the anime even if Ms. Takeuchi wrote it. The Golden Queen Galaxia CD cover shows an anime image of Galaxia. Furthermore, Shadow Galactica is also the name of a piece of music that actually plays during the anime. The music’s description in the Sailor Stars Music Collection uses anime-specific information. (We are told that Sailor Galaxia is the queen of the Shadow Galactica.) It is not unreasonable to think that the musicians got their information from the animators themselves.
The manga version of Sailor Galaxia wants to take specifically the Sailor Crystals (the crystalline starseeds) of the soldiers in the galaxy in order to become the ruler of space. Her other mission is to find a planet that she can call her own. She already has the Saffer Crystal, which supposedly is the most destructive Sailor Crystal in the galaxy. She takes Mamoru’s Golden Crystal, but she also wants (Eternal) Sailor Moon’s Silver Moon Crystal. (According to Sailor Galaxia, Sailor Moon carries the strongest Sailor Crystal in the galaxy.) Later, Sailor Moon confronts the evil versions of her allies (the eight planetary sailor soldiers and Tuxedo Mask) in front of Galaxia's palace. She ends up destroying the bodies of her female allies, but she does not attempt to harm Tuxedo Mask. When Sailor Galaxia offers the monster Chaos Sailor Moon at the Galaxy Cauldron, Chaos blasts Sailor Galaxia off the cliff. Sailor Moon takes Sailor Galaxia’s hand. Sailor Galaxia later reaches out to Sailor Moon and says that she found her planet. Unfortunately, she does not get to enjoy her new planet because her bracelets break and she dies.
Sailor Galaxia’s anime counterpart is said to be the greatest sailor soldier in the galaxy. Long ago, she trapped Chaos inside her body. She began to become evil since Chaos was inside her. At one point, she sent her starseed (the Light of Hope) to the far reaches of the galaxy. She began to collect the galaxy’s special starseeds. At the beginning of the Stars series, she makes Nehellenia want revenge on Sailor Moon and her friends. Nehellenia’s intervention leads to the reawakening of Sailor Saturn. After Sailor Moon and the others help Nehellenia, Sailor Galaxia’ minions begin to look for the special starseeds on Earth. Sailor Galaxia probably already knows where those starseeds are, but she still makes the Sailor Anima-Mates go through the trouble of looking for them. During the final battle between a Galaxia-Chaos hybrid and Sailor Moon, the little girl who is called Chibi Chibi tells us that she is the Light of Hope. The Light of Hope becomes a starseed and then becomes a sword. Sailor Moon eventually finds the courage to use the sword and injures her enemy. However, the hybrid breaks the sword and Chibi Chibi’s power fades out. Sailor Moon vows never to give up. She tells us that she knows about the small hope that is left in Galaxia’s heart. She holds the hybrid’s hand, and Chaos leaves Galaxia’s body. Chaos is returning to its rightful place: the hearts of everyone. The good Galaxia thanks Sailor Moon, and she leaves with the starseeds so that she can attempt to fix what she ruined. Fortunately, Sailor Moon’s friends come back, and things go back to how they were.

Thanks to both of you for such massive detail of this powerful character. She does get a lot of screen time, but considering who we're talking about that's no surprise. Naoko wrote those song's? I didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out. Sailor Phi and Chi? Sounds familiar. Time to pull out the manga.

My opinion is this...
Galaxia is a big ol meanie pants.
Hehhe no really, she's alot worse in the manga. She's alot more cruel. I love her to death personally, she's just about my favorite bad guy (there's a ton of them up there competing with her) and she pretty much brings the entire sailor moon sagas to a close. The moral is this: Chaos is eternal and fighting for the universe is eternal, therefore sailor moon and the senshi will remain eternal. Even during the past and future Silver Millenniums when all were brought to peace chaos eventually rears its head and brings it all crashing down. History repeats itself, and Galaxia is just a great way to end the entire Sailor Moon thing. It's very symbolic.

Well put. Nothing less from you, Yaten. Sarah: Yes, she does look pretty with her hair down. Glad I'm not the only one that thinks so.

Meatball head is a term of affection that the characters use for her to refer to the odangos the stylized buns in her hair. it's not an insult.
